Staff were excellent and incredibly friendly. Room was clean and about what you expect, but certainly well-cleaned. Location was perfect for business I had in North Austin

I stayed at the Hampton Inn NW in Austin and was extremely disappointed. The A/C unit was so loud I honestly thought there was construction happening outside. The blinds wouldn’t open, the water in the shower never got truly hot just lukewarm, and the mattress was so uncomfortable that I barely slept. The carpet looked filthy, which made the whole room feel unclean. Breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel; the potatoes tasted old, like they’d been sitting in a fridge for days. The only decent thing was the pillows. For the price they charge per night, I expected much better service and quality. Definitely not worth it.

Had a giant cockroach in my room, phone in room was not originally working. Maintenence stated he had to remove another cockroach earlier in the day too. Staff downstairs were kind and quick to help, assisted me with getting a new room, but I still had a difficult time sleeping. The new room did smell of mildew. No compensation was provided. I was pretty disappointed with my stay here unfortunately.

The best aspect of my stay was the staff — they were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Complimentary coffee was available throughout the day, which was nice.
However, there were no on-site laundry facilities, so I had to use the laundry machines at the Homewood Suites next door.

Stayed on a business trip for one day, but accidentally left behind my new electric toothbrush. Contacted them, but they responded they didn't find it. Clearly whoever cleaned the room chose not to return it. I wouldn't trust the hotel with the personnel for whom it is OK to take customers' stuff.
