I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Abilene, Texas from November 7th to November 9th, and I was extremely disappointed with the overall condition and management of this property. This hotel is in serious need of renovation and better upkeep. The first-floor tiles are cracked and chipped, and there is a piece of cardboard taped with duct tape and topped with a cone in the pool area—completely unacceptable for a Hilton-branded property. Our room remote was old and barely functional, and when we asked a housekeeper for a replacement, we were told that the manager does not allow staff to give out new remotes because of the new TV brackets. This was a major inconvenience, especially since our son couldn’t connect his Xbox to the TV. The breakfast experience was also disappointing. The milk labeled as “cold” was warm, and the fruit was rotten with a foul smell and leaking liquid. On Saturday, breakfast was especially poor—the food was not hot, and the food in the warmer was cold. Later that day, after returning from the Abilene Zoo around 4 PM, the breakfast area was still dirty—crumbs, sticky tables, and old food scattered everywhere. Considering we paid over $280 per night, the condition and management of this property fell far below Hampton Inn and Hilton standards. The carpets were old, the property overall felt neglected, and it’s clear that a full renovation and stronger property management are urgently needed. I do want to mention that Wann, one of the staff members, was very understanding and listened to our concerns. He advised us to contact his manager, Pam, but each time we called, we were told she was either busy or had gone home for the day or wasn’t there. I hope this feedback is taken seriously. This experience did not meet the level of quality or comfort I expect from Hilton, and I urge the company to review this property’s management and maintenance practices.

Very nice and helpful staff. The fixtures in the bathtub could use a little tlc but they worked. Not a location I would brag about staying at but no real issues with them either

I messed up a booking and am leaving this review to thank Wann for his help. Hampton had no rooms available but Wann took time out of his night to call all of hotels in the area until I was able to get a room. He let me sit in the lobby and charge up my devices so I could work and search for a place for the night. I really appreciated the hospitality and assistance so I wasn't stuck in my car for the night. After the one night, I was able to check in here and had a great stay and breakfast in the morning. Thanks again Wann!
