We recently stayed here at Hampton Inn in Johnson City, TN to visit family over the Thanksgiving break. We traveled all day from Florida with 3 little kids. We were very impressed by the General Manager, Michael Samuels and his excellent customer service. He is present, attentive, friendly, engaging and you can tell the staff and customers genuinely feel his leadership presence. True definition of leading by example. He was out every morning rounding in the dining room and speaking with his customers to ensure our satisfaction. Our kids even looked forward to seeing him every day. We need more leaders like Michael and wanted to make sure to ask for his card to have the opportunity to thank him. His kindness did not go unnoticed and we are most appreciative!

I don't understand the good reviews. The staff was kind and helpful, but the rooms are nasty. The first room we were assigned smelled strongly of sewage and second room reeked of cigarette smoke. For $160 a night, I expect better. This is my first bad experience in a Hilton property.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Johnson City and had a mixed experience.
Unfortunately, the room had a very strong and unpleasant odor that resembled mildew, rotten milk, or dirty laundry, which significantly impacted comfort during the stay. In addition, the room amenities did not match the description. It was listed as having a king bed with a whirlpool tub, but instead the bathroom only had a stand-up shower.
The TV was smaller than what I typically expect from a Hilton property and lacked modern features such as the ability to stream personal services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The USB charging ports next to the bed were also not working.
Breakfast was very basic, and the quality of the hot items was fair at best. The French vanilla creamer dispenser was broken both days I visited the breakfast area, which suggests it was not being monitored closely.
On a positive note, the digital key worked flawlessly, which made arrival and access easy. The lobby also features a fully stocked self-serve market, including alcohol options, which was convenient.
Overall, this property appears to need attention to maintenance, cleanliness, and accuracy in room descriptions. With improvements in these areas, it could better align with typical Hampton Inn and Hilton brand expectations.

Stay away from this hotel. The room smells like toilet. To save your time, just do not book with them. If I can give 0 star, they will get 0 star.
