After reading positive reviews for this facility, I was a bit disappointed. This facility was not up to typical Hampton Inn Standards overall. You pay a little more than some hotel and expect a little more. First, the positive portion. Checking in was awesome because the fellow at the front desk had super personality! Here are 5 specific things that disappointing. 1) the HVAC unit made significant noise each time it cycled on. If I were staying longer than one night, I would certainly have asked to be moved into another room. 2) even though it was an upper floor, two small spiders were in the tub. Not alarming and easy to dispose of but notable. 3) There was zero shaving cream available in the facility: none as complimentary and none for sale. 4) No decaf tea in the facility. 5) Less variety at breakfast than some other Hampton Inns

Hotel Review I stayed here for five nights on business. I’ve stayed in many Hampton Inns over the years, and I’m pretty sure this is the first one that lacked an in-room microwave. Worse, the refrigerator lacked a setting selection, and its default temperature was just above freezing. Not great. The mute button on the TV remote didn’t work, either. Also, only a full shade option existed for the window instead of the usual light curtain that can be pulled into place to soften the sunlight blasting into the room (this was in early November). Another silly cost-cutting measure came from no bar of soap available beside the sink for hand washing. That meant I had to reach into the shower to the body wash dispenser instead. Not a tragedy, but certainly an annoyance. Also, the trash cans were ridiculously small. In short, if this hotel can cut a corner, they do. At least the breakfast buffet was passable and the lobby coffee was good. On the plus side, the AC/Heat unit worked well, the shower was strong, and they provided trash cans with flat tops to place items when waiting for the elevator/ filling up with ice at the machine nearby. (Small details like this are nice.) The elevator was the fastest I can recall experiencing at this level of hotel, too. And special mention to Sam, who worked the front desk on the evening when I realized I forgot the charger for my laptop. He offered to lend me his high speed USB-C phone charger to get my laptop enough juice to make it to the following day, which was above and beyond the call of duty. Sam really saved the day!

Hampton is our go to in Cookeville when we come up from Florida. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Although luggage carts need some work lol. But we managed.
