The view of the river from the hotel is absolutely amazing and the hotel is very clean and conveniently located with a parking garage or parking under the bridge for free…fyi I also loved the fact that we had a balcony option and the courtyard was too cute!!! There is also a walking trail and easy entrance to the bridge The breakfast is awesome with options and the happy hour bar with Jena and Scott and Ashley the manager was nothing less than amazing. Ohhhhh oh and the POPCORN is to dye for!

The hotel is in a nice location and that is where the positives end. My husband and I have stayed here a dozen times and there is always something wrong with the room… On top of that the cleanliness is questionable at best. This last trip we arrived after 5 PM and the hallway was strewn with dirty towels, toilet paper and used spoons…not a cleaning cart in sight so didn’t appear they were still cleaning the rooms. The lock in the bathroom was missing a cover. This is honestly the best bathroom we’ve had considering others had glass doors that weren’t secured and swung out to hit you, were missing a towel hook, had a door that didn’t close at all, etc, etc. If you bring these issues up to the manager you’ll be told that all the “mistakes” are actually by design from Hilton. The location is excellent—right next to the Ravenel Bridge—and it was easy to get around with a car. However, I was disappointed to find that parking wasn’t free, especially since the property isn’t located in the heart of the city. The staffs I encountered were courteous and quick to respond, and the complimentary breakfast was definitely one of the highlights of my stay. The hotel also offers a free evening reception, but by around 6 p.m., some of the snacks had already run out and were not replenished. Lobby and breakfast area were clean and beautifully maintained. The main downside was the condition of the room, which is starting to show its age. While the space was large, the water pressure—particularly in the toilet—was low. The cabinet doors were loose, the shower faucet and toilet paper holder weren’t properly secured, and the bathroom’s sliding door didn’t fully close. Housekeeping also could have been more thorough, as the bathroom floor wasn’t cleaned during my stay. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again unless the maintenance and cleanliness issues are improved.

Beware talking to strangers in the lobby. My wife and I were in Mount Pleasant for a doctor’s appointment. We were approached while eating breakfast and offered a deal on a three-night future stay at this same hotel. We knew we’d be back for another appointment, so we accepted and paid for the offer. On the attempt at reserving our next stay, believing the room was paid for, we’re informed by the clerk that Hilton is not associated with the salesman that duped us; we’d have to deal with him. Then we find out we’re obligated to attend a sales pitch before we could reserve a room and there is no refund policy and if we don’t carry through, our card would be charged more than the agreed amount. Beware of talking to strangers in this hotel lobby.
