My Husband and I experience was absolutely fantastic as always. We have stayed there at least once a month since September for our 10th year anniversary, and we have been coming back ever since. We celebrated my sister's 79th birthday there in September with my niece. The staff is absolutely amazing. We're just there november 15th and Tiffany G, was marvelous from speaking to her on the phone and solving my problem. She came to back to work at 7:00am to keep her promise and solve the problem. Please thank her for us. Your morning staff in the buffet area are the most friendly, and well respected individuals that early in the morning. My husband and I enjoy staying in your suites. They are always clean and ready before my check in time. Please express our sincere gratitude for all your staff.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I was in Columbia for several months, and stayed at a number of hotels. This hotel was head and shoulders above the rest. The front desk staff were always helpful, the rooms were always clean, and the breakfast staff always greeted me with a friendly good morning. Close to all of the downtown activities, close to the school and the capitol, and the arenas. Resort-level stay in the heart of Columbia.

I’ll start with parking. I frequent hiltons when I do travel. Never have I ever had to pay for parking, especially if it’s not a covered area and the fact it’s a third party is even worse. Not to mention the amount of vehicles they allow to park parallel to handicap parking. You have to loop past the entrance to park handicap and at times you can’t event get through. The staff were great, from the desk to the cleaning. Always cheerful and helpful. The only thing I didn’t understand was the way they handle reservations. I wanted to change from a double to a single king, because my reservation was through Expedia they charged me $20/day. I also couldn’t extend but had to checkout and check back in. I’ve done this at other properties (the extending part) and this was never an issue. Also I go back and forth between the Hilton app and third party sites to book. They have never charged me to change a room. There have been times the room I had didn’t accommodate our needs anymore from the time of purchase. I agreed to pay the fee, because there wasn’t any option. We stayed in a king suite on the corner of the building. The view was great, and it was very clean; however the “desk” if you want to call it that was a high top (I’m 5’ for for context) the area where the bar stool was had no carpet and when I tried to sit on the stool it just slipped out from me. If I tried to wiggle to scooch on the seat, I just flailed about trying not to fall off. My husband is 6’3 and he had similar issues. So athletically, very nice, functionally not at all. We ate breakfast there two of the three nights. Nice selection but they had many pork options so unless you want chicken tacos (1 of the days) then there’s no protein options. And the second day there were just two pork options. Unless that’s in issue for you like me, then you may love it. But at all the other Hilton free breakfasts always had the alternative. One day we had to leave before breakfast, I bought two pop tarts from the snack shop. They literally must have been there from the time they opened. They had the worse texture and taste I’ve ever had, not to mention they fell apart into dry crumbs as soon as I opened it. The first evening we went to eat downstairs at the bar area. We put our order in for wings and my husband and I each had a beer. 40 minutes in, the bartender came to the table and said something happened and the order didn’t go through. If we still wanted to eat dinner we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for them to come to the table. We were starving by then so of course we waited, without even a suggestion of a discount or comp. The bartender was kind but something should have been done. The location was perfect. Close to shops and restaurants. Not event that for from Ft. Jackson. Will we come back? No. Too expensive and they charge for everything. It was nice but too many issues for me to return.

The room had a pickle juice odor…odd but very clean. The view was great. Breakfast was very good each morning and the staff worked with pride and cared about providing excellent service. Lillie at the front desk was very attentive and if she didn’t know how to do something she got someone who did. It was a pleasure staying here.

Our stay was great! The room was spotless, but the best part was the breakfast! Loved the fall themed pancake bar! We will be back!
