My husband and 2 small children came to this hotel at my 6 year old son's request to stay at a hotel on his NYE birthday. We drove 2 hours to stay here and to also go to Segra Park for the NYE celebration. We were put in one room and I noticed immediately that the rooms were not as clean as the typical Home2Suites I have stayed in the past. I then noticed the shower had pubic hairs all over. I have included photos. My husband went downstairs and we were moved to a room next door. With my small children it was already such a hassle to move rooms, but I was thankful they were addressing the problem. We got all of our things moved and I went to get my son in the shower so we could get to the park, and I noticed another hair on the shower wall. At this point, I was annnoyed and just said I'm rinsing this off and will deal with it later. I opened the toilet, another hair. We then found an old fake fingernail sitting on the chair. We had to go purchase our own cleaning supplies to clean the room because we were going to miss our event if we didn't get going and did not have time to change rooms again. We went downstairs for breakfast and the first table we went to had hair in each chair. The floor of the elevator was disgusting. The guy walking the front desk (CJ I think?) was very nice but told me there was a housekeeping issue. He said he wrote a note to his manager to compensate us in someway but no one reached out to me or did anything. I stay at Hilton hotels always, and specially Home2Suites but I can assure you I will not stay here again. Also want to note how sweet the lady serving breakfast this morning was. All photos attached!

We stayed here a few weeks ago for our son’s graduation. The location was perfect for that. The staff at the desk were friendly. That said, the room was absolutely horrendous. It definitely is not a hotel that keeps up with maintenance or cleaning. The couch was extremely dusty, the bathroom was moldy and had not been thoroughly cleaned. There were food crumbs in the drawers. The wallpaper was coming down. There was some sort of large white stain on the carpet. The desk chair faux leather was stripped off of one of the arms. There were dead bugs. Filters had not been cleaned. They did replace my broken iron. Downstairs in the lobby area where breakfast is served that too had some maintenance issues. One of the back doors that you’re supposed to use a card to enter was actually broken so that anybody could come in through that door. I was quite surprised to see that Hilton allows to have their name on such a disgraceful place. Obviously inspections are not done as often as they should be. I took several pictures and was hoping to post them. I will find another site to do that. Personally, I would not recommend anyone stay here until their management can get maintenance under control and higher cleaning staff that actually do their job.

They’ve had 4 days to contact me but refuse, so here it goes. HOTEL IS NOT SAFE. Room 441 door is broken. Arrived to our room to it being open, not shut, didn’t need a key to get in. Broken, can’t tell me that someone didn’t notice this. The door is broken so you need to lift it to shut it. Reported to the desk and was offered another room but chose to stay in it so they wouldn’t give it to a single female. Hotel was dirty from floors, elevator floors and walls, wall paper peeling, bathroom mirror broken that the tried to cover with tissue box, furniture chipped, looked as if it was never vacuumed. Request extra pillows, non given. Requested a late checkout, female at check-in had no clue. Disorganized, go to Home2 to check in and they send you across the hotel to check in at the Garden desk. Not sure why the female working the Home2 desk couldn’t check us in. Go to ask a question at that desk and they send you to the other desk. Website offers free parking, we were charged $13 to park. Didn’t realize it until later in the day, numerous calls that they don’t answer, message through feedback about it and no one has reached back even when it was request. 4 drinks purchased, they couldn’t give a receipt, found out they charged us $27 for the soda/water/juice when we checked our credit card bill. No wonder why we didn’t get a receipt. The only good thing about Home2 was the woman at checkout. If your are a Silver or higher member or if this is your first time coming here… DON’T. From safety and security, to cleanliness, to fulfilling request, it is probably the worst Hilton property we’ve stayed at. Normally we book about 30 nights a year and always choose a Hilton property when available.

Bottom Line Up Front-DO NOT BOOK; see below for why. This property needs a lot of TLC. Most importantly, I felt the property was dirty. That feeling you get when you KNOW they aren’t doing what they need to do. In retrospect, I wish I would have checked out and gone to another hotel but was tired from a long drive. Everything needs maintenance or staff attention. Broken exercise machines and no towels in the fitness center, no napkins at breakfast, empty soap and shampoo bottles in room, broken blinds, etc, etc. Just doesn’t live up to Hilton standards. Note-Columbia is pretty gritty and one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. per capita. I felt like this property is on the bubble in terms of being in a not too good neighborhood. Unless you need to stay downtown for some reason, I’d stay at another property in the burbs. Last-this place was so bad I felt compelled to call Hilton. They credited my points back and seem to understand that this property is a repeat offender. They either need to fix the problems or corporate should pull their franchise.
