Shaunie at the front desk has extraordinary customer service. She made us feel very welcomed and special. In addition, she was very knowledgeable about the area around the hotel and made great suggestions.

Front desk staff, Shaunie, was absolutely amazing. My friends and I were looking for a place to eat. She took time to tell us all about the restaurants in the area. She was patient, kind, and sweet. I really appreciated her assistance and willingness to take time for us. She asked several times if our rooms were okay. She truly cared that we had 5 star service. I will be back and only stay at this location when I visit Columbia.

The front desk clerk asked me to leave after I complained multiple times about how dirty the floors were. Not once did anyone offer to send housekeeping to address the issue. What’s especially frustrating is that Hampton Inn markets itself on cleanliness—emphasizing fresh, clean rooms and hospitality standards—yet the condition of my room did not reflect this standard. The floors were visibly dirty, and even the towels were pitch black from spot cleaning some water. I showed them the dirty towels and nothing was done about it but give me excuses like the hotel being under renovation (manager stated this was a lie). This was among the worst hotel experiences I’ve had at any hotel. Apparently in these days you need to shut up and just pay; you get what you get. Update: After speaking with the manager, he refused to review the security recordings and instead relied on the front desk clerk’s account, which included false claims that I insulted her or called her names. I did not. I did raise my voice and speak more sternly because I had asked multiple staff members—repeatedly—to address the dirty floors, and no one took action. I had young children on-site, and their health and safety should have been a priority. Only offered half a day refund for my stay when I was asked to leave after 4 hours into the stay. I will never come back in the spirit of respect and dignity. You even mentioned cleanliness complaints happen a lot so you're not doing anything much to improve other than making sure you public replies defends your false claims.

Great stay. Was in town to visit family for Holidays. Clean room and the location is central to everything. All of the staff were nice but one person stood out. Shaunie went out of her way to assist me and she was very kind and pleasant. She deserves a raise lol.

Do not recommend. Our room was on the Gervais street side. It was unbelievably noisy. Traffic all night long, cars, motorcycles and street sweeping. Had my white noise on the highest setting and turned the air conditioning down to 63 and that didn’t help. Talked to the desk clerk and asked if they were full last night and she said no, not close. Asked why they didn’t put us on the other side away from noise. She said there is a bar that is usually full of college kids. Except yesterday was Christmas Day. The bar wasn’t even open. The awareness of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. She told me next time that there is a section that is away from both. I told her that there will never be a next time. Totally unacceptable.
