Stayed for a quick trip to Pittsburgh. Staff were friendly and helpful. They have a nice bar and seating area for their food menu.
I would stay again if we are in the area again.

I traveled to Pittsburgh for business and stayed two nights at the DoubleTree in Cranberry. When I arrived, it was difficult to find anyone at the front desk, and when staff did appear, they presented in a very goth style and weren’t particularly friendly. That aside, I did enjoy a good night’s sleep on my first night.
After a long day out, I returned to the hotel only to discover an extremely loud wedding taking place. The noise from children running around and doors constantly slamming made it impossible to relax. I had to move rooms twice and ultimately ended up in a corner room that had strange, intermittent squeegee-like sounds.
All in all, it was a pretty mediocre experience. I understand that hotels make a lot of money from weddings, but when they can’t provide even the most basic need—peace and quiet—for all guests, they should rethink how they manage events. I arrived back at the hotel around 8 PM and had to change rooms twice, with the final move happening at midnight. That’s simply unacceptable.

A nice size hotel outside of Pittsburgh. The rooms could use an update. Although they were clean, they were dark and in need of modern touches.
Large parking lot, also somewhat dark at night. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

What an exceptional experience! As an organization that hosts over 40 events each year across Western Pennsylvania, we can say without hesitation that the DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh–Cranberry has delivered one of the best hospitality experiences we’ve ever encountered – thanks to two incredible people: Phillip Wintgens, the Director of Catering, and Kate Knecht, the General Manager.
Our organization, the Pittsburgh Business Exchange (PBEX), partnered with the Butler County Chamber of Commerce to host our annual Women Shaping Our Region event this year, welcoming nearly 800 guests. From start to finish, Phillip and Kate went above and beyond to make sure every single detail was flawless.
Phillip’s professionalism and communication were unmatched. He anticipated our needs before we even mentioned them, guided us through every decision, and treated my team – including our junior staff – with the utmost respect. The night before the event, at 9:30pm, I was personally at the venue helping my team set up, and there was Phillip – hands-on, ensuring everything looked perfect. That kind of dedication is rare. He even remembered small personal details, like offering me a cookie to take home for my wife who was recovering from a difficult surgery.
The event went off without a hitch – perfect timing, excellent food service, and a staff that radiated professionalism and care. When I planned a post-event gathering that almost fell apart because the bar was closed, Phillip immediately mobilized his team, reopened it, and saved the afternoon!
Kate, the General Manager, also deserves special recognition. Her leadership shines through her staff. She personally reached out after the event asking, “How can we be a better partner next year?” – a question that shows she truly cares about community and excellence.
Because of this experience, we’re planning to return to the DoubleTree next year. Loyalty like that isn’t earned easily – but Phillip, Kate, and their team have certainly earned ours. I give them 5 stars all around!!!

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding that was hosted at the hotel, everything was wonderful. Hotel is very clean, up to date, safe, well staffed, comfortable, all amenities were in good working order and well maintained. Kids loved the pool and sauna, really enjoyed the high end pool towels! They also got a kick out of the glass elevators that face the lobby!
Very impressed by the banquet staff and Phillip especially. They covered everything for the rehearsal and wedding and made the process easy and stress free for the wedding party. Food was delicious and quantities correct, reader boards welcomed wedding attendees to various areas for events, staff at the bar in the lobby were patient and kind with odd requests. The service we experienced was outstanding and their staff should be very proud to execute such a large and important event flawlessly.
