Mount Joy’s name is derived from the sailing ship that carried the original settlers over the Atlantic: a replica of which is mounted along Main Street in the heart of the town today. Although our hotel has a Manheim address, the town of Manheim is about 5 miles away, with the Mount Joy town line situated just across the street from the hotel. Enjoy easy access to attractions like Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Hershey’s Chocolate World and The Sight & Sound Millennium Theatre.

The biggest issues we had was with the peeling paint in the shower as well as the dirty chair do the desk. Everything else was fine. The breakfast was OK, but we have had better at other Hampton Inn locations.

Couch and carpets could use a little cleaning and the contractors that did the plumbing in the shower must've lowballed the quote because the fixtures in the shower are just floating inside the wall, which is concerning. Room was great, bed was comfy and THEY HAVE BISCUITS AND GRAVY FOR BREAKFAST!!!!!!!! I used to stay at holiday inn express solely for B&G, but I think they stopped serving them in the last couple of years. I was thrilled to see them at breakfast and if I'm being honest, they were by far better than HIE. Hell, I can't wait to come back just for them :)

The one bright spot was the receptionist she had about 4 people come and check in at the same time and was able to get everyone checked in with no issues pretty quickly. The room was the problem. There was dust over all the surfaces and you could tell it wasn’t cleaned well. There was an overall musty smell and the floors were a little damp.
