I booked the room on booking.com around 10:30pm EST on 11/9 and advised them just to phone the hotel directly to let them know they'd be arriving past 12am on 11/10 to ensure it wouldn't be an issue. My FIL spoke to the front desk who said not a problem. Well, I guess upon them arriving it WAS a problem. The front desk attendant told them they might see a cancellation fee and gave them a huge attitude, even after they explained they called ahead and were assured it wouldn't be a problem. Their room was filthy, women's hair on one of the beds and pillows, terrible smell, but they toughed it out since they were only there for a few hours. It's now just after 9:30am EST on 11/10 and they're checking out. We will be escalating this to Management as this is unacceptable, no matter the time of night and I hope the front desk attendant is spoken with.
