And it's somewhat out of the way if the plan is to go downtown Philadelphia. On the other habd, it's on the river and next to a park which made it pretty to walk around and see the sunset. It was clean and everyone was very nice. Just not as "modern" as others.
- SWS WalkerOct 23, 20251.0I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Philadelphia Airport on October 22, 2025, after a long 10-hour overnight drive to visit my grandson at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). I booked through IHG at 5:32 a.m. for October 21–23 so I could check in immediately, but when I arrived around 5:50 a.m., the front desk clerk, Jim Roy, refused to check me in and told me to come back at 3 p.m. I made multiple calls to IHG, spoke to several agents including a senior case manager, and even called the hotel manager, Shakti, twice that morning (9:46 a.m. and 11:29 a.m.) but never received a call back. After being awake for over 33 hours, I was finally allowed to check in at 4 p.m. The only positive was that I stayed one night and was only charged for one night instead of two. The room temperature never dropped below 74 degrees, which made it hard to rest. This experience showed a complete lack of compassion or flexibility, especially for families visiting CHOP. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling for medical reasons or emergencies.
