This Hampton Inn is clean and well-maintained, with a friendly and helpful staff. The pool and fitness center are pleasant amenities; however, the rooms are heavily scented with a plug-in air freshener, which I promptly unplugged. Perhaps this is to mask pet odors?

It's a standard Hampton Inn. No frills but clean enough. Toilet leaked on the floor, beds were lumpy and made a good amount of noise getting in and out, but it was fine. If anyone has seen the soup nazi episode of Seinfeld you will appreciate the lady that runs breakfast. Breakfast runs til 10. We got there at 915 and we're told that the hot items end at 9. We questioned then why does it say 10? She said it takes her 45 min to make the hot stuff and she has a schedule to keep. She then said, "this isnt a restaurant". We grinned and took a bagel and some juice.

As we walked in to check in for the night, I saw a dog tall enough for its snout to reach the counter where the coffee, cups, utensils etc… were, comfortably, and touch the aforementioned items. Another dog in the food area “water shaking”. Both were on a leash, and their owners were ok with it. No hotel employee prevented the dogs from entering the dining area.
Going up the elevator, the elevator seemed to be original to the hotel, with lots of damaged areas, walls were full of dirt and hand spots, finger oil and other dirt that did not appear to have been cleaned for years. Likewise, the carpeting, both in the room, hallways and the lobby areas. The carpet seemed to have had some pattern on it, but it was so black that it was clear that the carpets had not been steam cleaned since they were put in.
One of the two beds in our room did not have fresh sheets and pillowcases, and the mattress was bowed in the middle.
The hotel seemed like a dog hotel rather than people hotel. People with pets should be placed on the same floor and prevented from entering the dining area with their animals.
