Business stay here… Few tips -park one block away 90 second walk for $28 overnight parking vs $70 per night (even though it’s a business trip, still want to be mindful of what I submit) -there’s a $30 daily convenience charge— in that, you get $15 to spend for sundries/ coffee -Hilton status gives you additional $30 per day. You need to ask for it bc they won’t tell you at check-in -I chose cheapest option in Concur but had to spend time updating 8+ tax lines. Maybe it’s the same no matter where you stay. But be ready to spend 30 minutes extra on inputting these fields Overall: staff and service was wonderful. I didn’t have time to spend in Portland other than solely work related, if this was a personal stay, I may choose hotel closer to Pearl District.

I’ve stayed at The Porter three times during my trips to Portland. While it’s a beautiful hotel and a great location, I’ve run into the same issue every single time: you cannot get ahold of anyone at the front desk. Don’t bother calling concierge or guest services, they simply don’t answer. The only way to get anything done is to physically go downstairs and speak to someone in person. Having worked in luxury hotels my entire career, I completely understand busy nights and peak times. But when this is my third stay and the problem is still exactly the same, it’s clearly not an isolated issue. There’s a service standard that comes with the price point of this hotel, and it’s just not being met. At this point, I’m taking my business elsewhere. I shouldn’t have to call corporate just to reach a staff member on property.

Very cool hotel. Nice rooms. Nice location. In a quiet part of downtown, a bit removed from the traffic, but still walkable to restaurants, shopping, and parks. 2 blocks from the waterfront. Great restaurant and store/cafe with unique product offerings. The amenities are amazing. Nice pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. How rare is that. Management and staff are also top notch, friendly, and helpful. There is even a bar/lounge on the top floor with a patio and great view.

Not worth the price. Not only do you have to pay to stay here but you also have to pay to park here. Which they don't include in your hotel price. Also breakfast is included but you still have to pay. They put me in a room with moldy shower curtain which im severely allergic to. So I couldn't even use the shower and had to keep using allergy medicine just to stay in the room. One of the worst stays ive ever had. The only good thing was the service by the people. Will not stay again.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful...from the curb to the desk, all the way up to the beautiful roof top bar. My room was clean and comfortable and I was amazed that finally a hotel who accommodates a woman's need for a magnifying and light up mirror. For this small benefit alone I was ready to give 5 stars. Unfortunately, I'm giving 4 stars only because of the food I chose to have from the restaurant. They had many choices but I chose simple chicken strips and fries from the kids menu. I do not recommend this and if you chose to order from the restaurant, you order something else. I expected a yummy chicken strip and I'm pretty sure I've eater better chicken from McDonalds. But again... there was many other things in the menu that might be better!! Aside from this small thing I strongly recommend this hotel because my experience was almost perfect!!!
