  Beyond poor housekeeping service. Bathroom had no towel rack so we asked for service every day yet we received no service for our entire 4 night stay. Poor room layout

  It's BRAND NEW! It's a BRAND NEW TRAIN WREAK! Some of the problems with this property can be attributed to "growing pains" But not all. Rooms: Clean and spacious, but very poorly constructed. ALL of the doors have been hung wrong (some wont close at all), so expect slamming all day and all night. LOUD, wake-you-up like a bomb slamming. I don't blame rude guest in this case (as I would expect). No toilet paper holder.. but a hole where I suspect that one used to be. Hope your agile enough for a "reach around" to get it from the tank behind you. Short stack of towels with insufficient amount of hooks for hanging. Breakfast: "Meh" at best. A much lesser selection than I've had at other Hamptons. No juice machine (out of order). Warm, watered down OJ in a dispenser was there instead. And for crying out loud, if you MUST insist upon plastic utensils, could it not be the cheapest and most flimsy. Couldn't cut a waffle. Property: It's on a pond adjacent to the lake. Yes it's "swampy".. but beautiful. They have a lovely outdoor seating area with a gas fire pit. If you are expecting a sea-shore you are in the wrong place. Head to the Outter Banks or Jersey shore. This is what it is supposed to be. As far as the bugs?... yup, it's called nature. If you expect a hotel operator to have control of that you're being unreasonable. FYI bug zappers ATTRACT bugs. So... If you think this is bad, wait for mayfly season.. where each step is punctuated by a "crunch". Millions of the buggers! I'd never visit this area during that period again. It's biblical! No business center so you cant print out anything. Staff: Sometimes clueless but very pleasant and friendly. I was surprised when I was denied water upon check in. I know I'm only a lowly silver member, but I've been on the road for the past 4 weeks and was offered water at each and every Hilton property I've stayed. I brought this to the GM who was kind and polite and did give me two bottles of water. (Thank you) She said that it was a Hilton policy to provide water to guests with Gold or Platinum status only and that she is a "stickler for policy". Her explanation was that the other properties were giving out waters so they would get higher reviews. Well, you might want to try that out. And also read what is on Hilton's website where it describes that silver members DO get free water on check in. Also, as long as you are being a stickler, you might want to apply that to the many short comings I've mentioned. Maybe I'm being picky... or maybe I'm a stickler too. I'll be going to the Holiday Inn Express across the street next time I'm in the area.. it WON'T be during mayfly season.

  Needed place fast due to storm on island! Charlie was so kind and accommodating to my stress and was eager to get me settled in quickly and was so helpful answering all questions i would even have before i could even ask! Room was very clean and will definitely stay again! Breakfast was something for anyone from hot breakfast to just a quick muffin! Thanks again Charlie they are lucky to have an employee like you!
