I used to work closely with the DoubleTree in Newark, Ohio through business, but I’ve been away from the area for about a year. This time, I made my reservation online and didn’t reach out to any of my old contacts.
Annette saw my name on the guest list and still took the time to prepare a thoughtful gift for my family and me. Her attention to detail was outstanding. To notice my name among all the incoming guests for the day and act on it meant a lot. I’m truly appreciative.
Taylor at the front desk was wonderful as well. I had to cancel my Monday reservation due to weather, and she handled it without any fuss. When I checked in on Tuesday, she remembered our previous conversation. In today’s world, that kind of personal touch really stands out.
The ground-floor Starbucks is a great touch. When I needed to get some work done, it was the perfect spot to meet a few old friends and catch up while getting things done.
Kendra, you have two incredible team members at your hotel. I’m genuinely jealous.

Stayed at this hotel last week on a work layover and overall a good experience. We checked in around 10pm which is later than normal for us..front desk personnel were friendly however disappointing that we didn't receive a warm cookie.😕 Guess they stop that at a certain time. Other than that our room was clean but slightly dated..bed was so comfy and warm. We stopped by the breakfast area in the am around 9am..we were the only ones there at this time and the lady tending to breakfast was super nice. The breakfast is a little nicer than say Hampton Inn continental breakfast so if you have to pay for it I wouldn't. We are diamond members so we had a daily food credit and were leaving that morning. Just something for our bellies before work. There is also a Starbucks inside the hotel so that was nice to grab a speciality coffee. In all we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel rooms were nice, the shower pressure was intense and temperature was plenty hot.
What made this hotel review 5-stars were the DoubleTree staff. At brunch this morning the person working was very pleasant, hospitable, and attentive to our needs. Additionally I called a few hours after checking out to see if they’d found Bluetooth device I was afraid I’d left in the room. The staff member was very attentive and called me back within 10 minutes to let me know the item was found and would be at the front reception. Really appreciated their hospitality during our short stay!
