- MGM GabrielDec 23, 20255.0We had a great stay in a comfortable suite. The hotel is updating the interior, but it didn't impact us much. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. We had breakfast in the onsite restaurant, Char, and the coffee was great (which can be unusual for hotel coffee), and the food was yummy. I have zero complaints and I will definitely stay again in the future. I look forward to seeing what it looks like after the improvements are done.

- JCJ ChaNov 29, 20252.0Great location but subpar rooms with foul odor. Years ago, Strathallan was the place to be. It used to be considered the fanciest hotel in Rochester. However, it has definitely deteriorated over the years. Even last year when I stayed, I didn’t have much complaints. This year was unfortunately not a good experience. When I first checked in, as soon as I opened the bathroom door, the foul sewage / drain smell hit me. Tried to turn on the vent but quickly realized that the bathroom was not equipped with a vent at all. So I left the bathroom door open to air out the bathroom before I left the room hoping the smell would dissipate. When I returned at the end of the day, the entire room densely reeked of the smell. Thankfully, this room had a balcony door that could be opened to air out the smell. Too bad it was 30F outside. The odor issue lasted my entire stay of 3 days and every day I had to air out the room by opening the balcony door. I also noticed that another room across the hall had a sign that said “deodorization in progress” which makes me think this issue is not limited to the room I was staying in.
