Extremely bad and rude staff. Currently staying in the hotel and checking out today and can not explain how many times my mood has been spoiled by the staff arguments. Front desk Ms Shantel was very rude upon asking for water bottle as for 3 nights stay only 2 small plastic water bottles are given. Extra 4$ for any water you require or fill up the bottle from the cafe. The way she replied was very rude as if asking for a water bottle is something extra Favour. Extremely thin walls, could hear the neighbour room all night. Hotel has renovation work on going as well and for this price it doesn’t make sense torturing your self. No help with check out luggage, staying with children with extra luggage they expect you to bring all by your self down from 18th floor. Extremely strict with check out time at 11pm and check in at 4pm. Even upon request I was denied. I’ve stayed all over the world and also in New York same week it’s never that rude and strict. This was my second hotel in New York, and this kind of attitude was surprising . I’m shocked how badly I ended my trip. Waste of money and time. Chaotic energy.

I spent the last week of the year at the hotel. Everything started out well but unfortunately didn’t end that way. Originally when I had checked in I asked if I could keep my bags at the secure area and pick them up the following day at 1:00 am and I was told sure no problem. A couple of days later I wanted to verify that I could still do that and I was told no that I have to pick my bags up before 10:00 pm and to check with the bellman. When I asked him he said no it’s fine you can pick it up the following day at 1:00 am, but to inform the bellman on the day of my checkout that I’m going to pick it up late. On the day of my checkout, the Manager Hassan was on the reception, and I asked to pick up the bags at 1:00 am and he said no that the latest would be 11:00 pm but he tried helping me find a luggage storage place close by. So I decided to keep the bags till 11:00 pm then pick them up and take them to the next door hotel who offered to store my luggage for a small fee (which I had offered to do at the embassy suites). I arrived back at the hotel at 8:00 pm, rested for half an hour then went to the reception to ask for my bags. Bader the person on the reception said that the bellman had just left and that I would need to come tomorrow morning to pick up my bags, mind you my flight was at 6:00 am. I told him that this is a load of BS because Hassan the manager had said that I can keep them till 11:00 pm. Long story short the night “manage” called Shantel gave me attitude and told Bader “go get his bags” as if she’s doing me a favor. To conclude, having paid $3000 for a few days i was unable to store my bags at the hotel lobby. Hotel management has to be trained to train the rest of the employees to all have the same information. PATHETIC.

Keanna is awesome and Shantel too :), honorable mentions. This hotel is almost always fully sold out or overbooked. I stayed here for 16 nights, and overall my experience was bad. The main issue occurred during my first three days, when despite requesting housekeeping on several occasions both over the phone and in person at the reception, my room was not cleaned. That initial lapse was disappointing, especially for a longer stay. UPDATE 12/27/2025: Requested my room to be cleaned at 1 PM, came back at night around 11:33 PM and NO ONE cleaned my room. I called the front desk to complain, they told me that housekeeping does not clean the rooms at night and to get bent. Like no crap housekeeping doesn't clean at night, I was expecting to get home to a CLEAN and SANITIZED room and instead I get home to a dirty room. One male receptionist, whose name I do not recall but may have been something like “Mder,” came across as unnecessarily hostile when I tried to purchase a bottle of water. He asked for my room number and last name and took two to three minutes to verify the information on his computer, which felt excessive given the situation. It stood out because other front desk staff members consistently recognized returning guests and typically only asked for a room number when purchasing beverages or snacks. The inconsistency made the interaction feel a bit personal or targeted. Perhaps because of my sexuality and style of dressing? Maybe it clashes with his religion or personal belief system, but I feel as though when you work any job where you interact with customers frequently you have to table that so long as the customer is being respectful to you.

This was a bad welcome to NYC after a long 10 hour snowy day of travel. We were greeted by the receptionist working on the evening of 12/14 who was lukewarm at best and judgy when I requested an extra key for my partner who was staying with me. Aside from this, we made our way to our room and were greeted by pieces of floor missing! Literally chunks of the vinyl floor gone and damaged. There were stains on the upholstery and wallpaper, the bathroom floor had stains and crevices were moldy. The room next door seemed to be packed and throwing a party. I immediately called down and visited the front desk. I was told by the lady who checked us in that she would let her manager know but wouldn’t do anything that night as they had oversold the hotel. I then requested my money back to change hotels after feeling disgusted by the room and was told that would require losing the whole reservation that was prepaid but they would escalate the issue. I didn’t hear anything promptly so got on the phone with Chase Travel where they were friendly and helpful though, unable to get any further than I did in person with the hotel. The next morning after not hearing details regarding moving rooms, I visited the front desk where the staff were more friendly than the night before and was given a new room by noon. This room was cleaner and less damaged than the first. It is still not what I would have expected for a $1300 room for three nights after points redemption. The rooms are small as I thought was standard in NYC but found out this is not the case after having such a redeeming stay at the Hyatt Regency down the street. I would have expected some sort of offer to make this right by the Embassy but was not met with any, so much as an extra beverage credit. I would either stay here at your own risk or avoid altogether. Consider other better options such as the aforementioned. I personally will be avoiding this hotel and other Hilton properties as they’ve gone downhill lately in multiple cities I’ve stayed in recently. Hyatt or Marriott seem to be the way to go. See pictures for what you may be getting into at this property.
