5 stars BUT CRACKS ARE FORMING! First the good! Then the cracks/concerns...
Before you read, know that we WILL be going back! We have been coming here for years now, and love the location. Staff is SUPER awesome and friendly. Becca (AMAZING PERSON!) knows everyone by name, goes out of her way to check on people. When you think top of the line hotel hospitality, THAT IS BECCA. Patti is amazing too (I hope I remember that name right!), friendly, and a standout.
Overnight security people are also awesome. They respond well, and are very friendly yet gave the impression they take their job very seriously.
Location super easy, even to walk down to the lake if you don't mind a small hike. Everything is within a 2 minute drive in the village, and 10 minutes from everything else. Outdoor pool rocked, indoor pool is always fun. Room view are great! Outdoor amenities = awesome. Price is decent (We stayed end of Sept/Early Oct.)
Also new playground rocks!! Kids loved it!! Outdoor pool stayed open late and is heated!!
Now the cracks...(concerns).
Rooms: This was our biggest concern. They are getting old, need repairs, place needs an update or full room by room renovation/updating. We had concerns because whoever the new person was cleaning the room did not get behind the couch (toys from previous kids), there were dark finger smudges on shower, bathroom door, hallway, and door knobs. Someone's hair was left behind too. They hadn't been wiped. Again, this is not typical for this place but it has happened on 1 previous visit too. We didn't tell them till we were leaving because we weren't looking for a refund. We like this place! We wiped it up ourselves. We told them afterwards as we left, and it looks like it was a newer employee. 2 out of the last 3 years we have had some room concerns....minor, but getting bigger.
Outdoor Chess Board: Second year in a row they had mold inside the pieces. As long as you don't open the tops (which happens with kids accidentally) you are all good. They just need to be cleaned every month. Kids still had a blast with them.
They had their "fall festival" with drinks and fire pits outside. They had marshmallows to roast, but someone didn't think it through...they had a duraflame log in the pit. You can't roast marshmallows over duraflame logs, they have chemicals in them...prices were pretty darn high too. $5 or $6 for a non-alcoholic apple cider the size of a coffee cup.
Restaurant...Love the food as always, but EXTREMELY short staffed & pretty expensive. They couldn't handle the crowds. Wait staff was AMAZING THOUGH. Kids eat for free if under 11 so that was AWESOME.
Again, STAFF HERE IS AMAZING, friendly, and accommodating. Location is great. Lake George is super expensive, but this place is better than staying in the village in my opinion, and with more amenities. Then just drive 400 yards down the road :). Overall Lake George is becoming unaffordable to be honest..... This place has some awesome employees. Hopefully with a little updating by management rooms will have a turnaround.
Overall, I have concerns Lake George is going the way of the Poconos, getting outdated, and overpriced. That's not the fault of this hotel. STAFF WAS AMAZING, and the kids (and parents) had a blast on our trip.

This hotel was a delight to stay at. The room was clean and modernly decorated. The bathrooms obviously had tasteful upgrades. The hotel staff were very friendly and even offered complementary cookies. I will definitely stay there again.

We came for a banquet. The food was ok. Instant potatoes is a lazy way but it's just my preference
