For just under a decade I’ve traveled across the U.S. reviewing hotels, staying in well over 500 different locations. On top of that, I have 30 years of maintenance experience, so I know this industry like the back of my hand — what should be done, what shouldn’t, and what absolutely cannot be ignored.
Management here needs to start micromanaging, because a lot of the staff clearly aren’t doing their jobs.
The cleaning crew? Rude, unprofessional, and honestly have no business cleaning rooms. Whoever handles the entryway is watering down their cleaning solution — you can see it in the photos. It looks terrible.
As for the rooms, I told the front desk that the AC/heater wall unit sounded like an airplane taking off. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this. At another hotel, we requested a room change for the same issue — left for a few hours and came back to find that original room on fire. I explained this, yet maintenance never came to check it out here. The photos and videos show the problems clearly.
Now, to be fair, maintenance seems to care. I talked with one of them and he was decent. But when I was out walking the grounds at 6 AM and the entire walkway was glazed with ice, that’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. Safety should not be optional.
Let me explain something:
When you travel as much as we do, nothing stands out more than a place that makes you feel like family. That alone can make or break a stay. But here? Instead of feeling welcome or at home, I felt like I was bothering the staff just by existing. When you’re living out of a hotel for weeks at a time, that hits hard.
This property has potential. It’s in a good location. But it needs heart, attention, and leadership that actually cares. Maybe this is an upper management issue — maybe some penny-pinching decisions are trickling down and costing this place its quality. If that’s the case, shame on you.
Do better.
