From the desk attendants to security to housekeeping to breakfast hosts, every single staff person we interacted with was kind and helpful. It really stood out and it’s clear that customer service is a priority here. Hotel appeared to be in good condition and we didn’t notice uncleanliness in our room or common areas. We thoughts the beds and pillows were really comfy too. The location was convenient to getting around Albany by car (free parking) and is also walkable to nearby neighborhoods. There are chain restaurants around the corner and it’s a short walk to Washington Park and local shops on Madison Avenue. (Coffee snobs, you must visit Jacob Alejandro.) We never felt unsafe in the area. The hotel was extremely quiet throughout most of our stay and we did not hear other guests, except for an incident on Saturday night which was the only thing that prevented this from being a perfect 5 star stay. Guests in the room next to us had a very loud party that began around 5 pm Saturday and continued well past 10 pm quiet hours. It was so loud I could hear them with earplugs in and could not sleep. We had to contact the desk repeatedly to get them to enforce the quiet hours policy and I feel that the staff waited too long to escalate the situation despite telling us over and over it was handled. Around midnight we were told that the loud guests had been asked to leave the hotel by security, but the noise continued because staff did not check to make sure they had actually left. The noise was not resolved until after 2 am when the police were called to get the people out of the room. Needless to say, this was a really unpleasant, stressful situation for us and for the staff. That said, I have to commend the overnight desk attendant, David, for his customer service. He was so gracious when I got out of bed and went downstairs to complain at 1 am. To make amends he fully refunded our charges for Saturday night and gave us breakfast vouchers for the rest of our stay. Despite this disappointing moment, I would stay here again if visiting Albany.

Always enjoyed breakfast at Garden Inns but not this one. Very limited options for the buffet and tasted very salty to my taste. The lady in charge of the breakfast area is very nice though. Plenty of parking and restaurants nearby. There is a grill restaurant downstairs but did not try. Staff are friendly and helpful.
