Rio Hotel & Casino is a vibrant oasis just one block off the famed Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Road, with convenient access to Harry Reid International Airport and I-15. With an array of entertainment options, spacious 580-square-foot rooms, and dynamic dining experiences, this iconic resort delivers the complete Las Vegas experience to its guests. Newly renovated rooms are available for booking now.
Don't stay here! Spend your money and time at a hotel near the strip. We stayed for a long weekend in January and this was our experience.
Cons: This hotel is outdated, and even the remodeled rooms are underwhelming. The $50 "resort fee" is a money grab- there's no "resort" (since it's January and pool is closed, which is fine but waive the fee then!). The casino itself is so outdated it felt like the 1980's in there. The few restaurants we tried were good but overpriced. The front desk, specifically Patricia, was so unhelpful. Check-in line (with a human, not a kiosk) is normally very long so be prepared to wait when you arrive if you have a special request. We had no conditioners, just two shampoos in the shower. Tried to call the housekeeping line but to no avail; it was disconnected. When we told the front desk the gentleman responded, "I'm surprised you even have a phone that works!" So, yeah. That tells you all you need to know. Lastly, you have to take a cab to get to the strip. They add up quickly! Can't walk to anything other than maybe the Denny's down the street.
Pros: Service from bars and restaurants was really good! Everyone was so nice and friendly. And the food was tasty. Room is SO spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The thermostat/temperature regulation was great too; we were always comfortable. The fitness center is awesome. All new equipment and nicely stocked.
Overall, considering this was a $200/night stay I'd say it's a hard pass. Cons very much outweighed the few pros, the place is pretty dumpy. Don't stay here.

I'm in my room right now, but I wish I was at another hotel. The Rio is claiming that they have renovated and updated their property, but that's completely not what I see. Starting with the arrival, the hotel grounds, the driveway around the hotel, the parking structure and the building exterior are dilapidated, run down and in need of extensive upgrades and repairs. When you walk through the turnstile near the hotel check in, it's like getting punched in the face with tobacco smoke. The whole casino smells like a pungent, nauseating, ashtray. It doesn't get much better on the way to the room. My room is on the 31st floor. As soon as you get off the elevator, it smells like pinesol clean detergent trying to cover up the stench ofold soggy carpet. It didn't work. The room is fairly large, but dark, old, worn out, and outdated. The ice machine in the hallway was not working, so I tried to call the front desk, but there is no live staff available to assist. I went to another floor and got ice. The TV remote control is not working, so I used the automated phone system to request assistance, but as I am writing this review, it has been 1 hour since that call and still have not received a response. This hotel is rated 4 stars, but it seems to be struggling to attain a 2 star rating. This is the kind of hotel you end up with if there is absolutely nothing else available. I wouldn't stay here again even it was free.

One of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.
Basic issues were never resolved. The air conditioning did not work, the shower drain was clogged and unsanitary, and housekeeping never cleaned the room during our four-night stay. We were told cleaning was not guaranteed and had to repeatedly contact staff just to get the room serviced once.
Getting help was exhausting. We spent hours on hold or standing downstairs trying to speak with someone. Staff were often rude and dismissive, and one manager eventually said there was nothing that could be done, leaving all issues unresolved.
On top of that, we were charged a daily resort fee for almost nothing. It was winter, the pool was unusable, and Wi-Fi was basically the only benefit.
The new restaurants were also disappointing. The food quality was poor, and it’s hard to understand who thought these concepts were a good idea.
I paid expecting basic comfort and service. Instead, the problems never stopped. I would not recommend staying here.

I'm a Rio rewards member and normally I stay at the Rio when I'm in Vegas but this time I was very disappointed. I had booked back in November from Dec 31st to Jan 5th, 4 days were comped but the 31st was not because it was New Years Eve. I get it but I wasn't $400 for one night. So I booked another hotel for the night way cheaper. So the next day we check into the Rio but the room was so old, dingy and dark. So we called the front desk to switch rooms and was told to come down to the desk but when we got there they say they had no room available after we were told that we could switch. So we were stuck in this room. The first night we had no face towels. We had to use hand towels to wash. The sheets were stained and had hair on them. The next we go out and back to the room and discover it hadn't been cleaned, so I call the house keeping which was AI assistant named Rita. She put in a request and someone did come and changed the sheets. Day 2 went out came back room not cleaned again. Called and got Rita again. She put in a request but no one ever showed up to clean the room. Needless say the happened everyday of our stay and our room was never ever cleaned. So we complained at the front desk nothing was really done. We were given a $50 food voucher. Also on Jan 4th the elevators were down. We were on the 36th floor. Some people waited over an hour before some one came to take us down in the service elevator. They say the rooms are comped but you still pay a resort fee. That's not comped. What part of the hotel is a resort. Don't really need the internet, the pool was out of season, the parking was free and there is no free breakfast.

Three families stayed here in the remodeled rooms, 1 1br suite and 2 deluxe rooms in between Christmas and NYE. Having the 1br suite was a great option for us, as it offered a large living area with a large table and chairs, in addition to a large sofa that we used to gather our family together. Service was great. The ability to order food from Starbucks and the canteen restaurants was a huge perk. Great food choices, all reasonably priced and of good quality. Try the new steakhouse - it’s incredible and a comparative value to others of that quality in Las Vegas. The gym was great. I used it early so it wasn’t busy. All new equipment.
I liked the hotel being off strip. This was a crazy busy time on the strip, so the hotels there were packed. The Rio never felt packed even tho I believe they were sold out in the remodeled rooms. We stayed at Bellagio before this, and while nice, I’d choose the Rio over that next time. It wasn’t that far from the strip and our huge suite was 1/3 the price of a standard room there. Even paying for parking when visiting the strip hotels ($20), it’s a no brainer. The Rio is a great value.
My only gripe is the elevator situation during checkout - between 10-11 it’s very difficult to get an elevator as they have several out of commission. I believe they are improving the elevators so that should hopefully be resolved in the future.
