- JMjoanne McnairOct 6, 20253.0May I make a suggestion, we arrived at the hotel at 6:30 exhausted driving from New Hampshire to Tucson.We had a Service dog. A well trained German Shepherd. He is scent trained for seizures. We went to the Red Sage restaurent. This dog has traveled the world with us and never been refused entry. The Bartender was the manager.He immediately told me he had to have a vest or some kind of certification. Therefore we could not go in. Here is the information you need to know, taken from the American With Disabilities act homepage under Service dogs. Service animals are not: Required to be certified or go through a professional training program They are not required to wear a vest or other ID that indicates they’re a service dog They are not Emotional support or comfort dogs, because providing emotional support or comfort is not a task related to a person’s disability. This sleepover was difficult and dangerous..however I believe this can be corrected with the accurate information so that this does not happen to someone else Thank you for your attention to this matter.
