- LLLloyd LaBombardOct 30, 20254.0Hilton recently purchased this landmark hotel and I was excited to see the Hilton touch at this historic hotel. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as it was prior to Hilton’s purchase. The bagel Breakfast was great as well. The room was clean and comfortable. However, after my last visit I am somewhat less enthusiastic of the Hilton/Spark branding. Behind the recent touch ups, the property has significantly declined in the details that I expected from the Hilton brand. The USB chargers in the room didn’t work, half the light bulbs were burned out, the outside appearances of the landscaping had weeds along the sidewalk and fixtures that were over 12” in height in some places. The ice machine was “broken”, the refrigerator didn’t work either. I believe that Hilton will make the necessary adjustments for people that look for the details that one expects from the Hilton name. I hope so. At the price point Hilton charges for this hotel I expected way better.

The bed was very clean, but the floor was a little dirty, which is the main reason I knocked a star. The layout of the building is kind of strange. I would stay here again if I was passing through.
