What can I say. The room are filthy, literal excrement stains on the curtains, windows look like they are covered in I don’t know what, and for a extra fun item, they will place a hold on your card for “estimated incidentals”. How much? According to Austin, the manager, they charge whatever they want. Will they tell you? No. Again, Austin said they don’t have to. In my case it was $250 for estimated incidentals, for a 2 night stay. Beware giving them your credit card info. Austin seems very cavalier about charging whatever he wants on your card.
For clarity, what’s discussed on the reservation form is “the hotel may charge a fee for estimated incidentals” and an amount is not disclosed. According to Hilton corporate this amount is 50$ per night or one nights stay, whichever is less, however it appears the managers decision to stray from the corporate policy was as much of a surprise to me as it was to them.
Additionally, placing charges, even holds, on a customers card without notification or agreement violates PCI policies, which was also a surprise to Visa, when I notified them. They informed me businesses may not place holds on your card without notice, and let me know they’d be opening an investigation into this property and their attitude towards handling customer cards and what they referred to as ‘a clear case of fraud’.
Regardless, my statements stand. The hotel seems to think they can place holds on any amount they want, despite Hilton corporate having a clearly published policy, and believe if you check in digitally, that they can do so without notifying you. I would exercise caution before booking here as their attitude towards protecting customer credit cards seems a bit lax in my opinion, in addition to the clearly uncleaned rooms.

We stayed in a suite with a closed door bedroom. The room was great. Had everything we needed. The bed was good.
Checking in was rather Ho-hum with no special effort made to welcome us or a cheerful smile.
Actually, the check-out person the next morning was much more pleasant and cheerful.
Sunday morning breakfast seemed to have a few less items than other Homewood Suites we have stayed in. And we have stayed in quite a few the last two weeks.
I was the first to get coffee when the woman working there said it was ready. I noted that the waste bin was nearly overflowing. Apparently, it had not been emptied in some time. The woman who seemed to be in charge of putting on breakfast sat at one of the tables using her phone.
Overall, the breakfast was fine, not great, but okay.
The tables in the breakfast area are obviously new and high tech. Just about every seat has its own USB-A port. Nice touch there.
Finding the hotel is a bit confusing. Both Apple Maps and Google Maps have a hard time with the actual street address.
I’d suggest clicking on the adjacent Atria, also a Hilton property, an assisted living facility, I believe. That will bring you in off Raritan Blvd. You’ll actually be coming in to the rear of the property, but this is where most of the parking is. You also avoid the one-way streets that seem to confound map apps.
