I have done a lot of traveling in my life and have stayed at many different hotels, and saying this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had would be a MASSIVE understatement. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and I had originally come here for a quick trip to pick up my aunt and bring her back home to Iowa, until I started showing signs of labor and decided it would be best to stay until our baby was born. What should have been a one night deal turned into over a week, and throughout this time we became very familiar with the staff who were all absolutely exceptional. I think our third night here one of the managers offered me up some of the spicy wings they had ordered from the restaurant down the road to try and help speed up the labor process, and let me tell you those wings were AMAZING and it was just such a sweet gesture!! They made us feel as at home as possible the whole time we were here, and went above and beyond for us. Today was our last day as I’m going to the hospital to be induced for labor, and while we were having breakfast (the breakfast is absolutely incredible btw) the whole staff came up to our table to bring us this incredibly sweet card they got and had everyone sign for us. Made me cry happy tears and just made us feel so so special. I can’t say thank you enough to this wonderful establishment, you guys truly made this an experience I will never forget.

Overall it was a great stay. Strangely the door to the room had a large air gap and didn’t seem to quite fit the door frame correctly. If there was a lot of activity in the hallway it was very audible in the room. I ended up placing a towel down to help this a bit. Otherwise the room was pretty good and bed was decent. Service was great and the breakfast was decent enough for being included for free.

At check in the gentleman was very polite, kind, & even remembered me from previous stays. We were in town for a wedding and decided to give this property another chance as we had stayed numerous times in the past years. The time before this stay we went into the pool area and the chlorine was so strong it that none of us out of our group was able to stay in there. It immediately made us have a headache, eyes burn, and couldn’t breathe. (That was resolved at check out) but like I said I figured I would give them an another chance. Later that evening we were sitting around the table next to the tv and we move the couch so we could all eat together and under the front of the couch was a dirty thong. When I called the front desk immediately after finding it I told the lady at the desk about it she refused to come and dispose of it. She said it was a safety concern and policy. (She stated that I would need to remove it and she could bring me a bag to put it in. I said absolutely not and to call a manager because that is a health and wellness issue that I’m not looking to be apart of. She said her security could come down but I would have to still grab it for him. I get today’s day and age that being a female she didn’t want to come to alone but I asked why she as the hotel worker wouldn’t come down with said security to grab them. I told her they both would be able to come into the room while she was there I just wanted it taken care of. She state that she WASN’T coming to the room and was very very rude.) After all these issues I figured it was time to give corporate a call as she was refusing to come dispose of them. She said she could move me rooms but we were also full unpacked for 3 people plus they only had a 2 queen room. I advised her we (wife and I) were bigger people and can’t sleep together in a queen. I ended up calling Hilton Corporate or Rewards or whatever they want to call it (I was corrected at checkout when I spoke with the assistant GM) and after +20 min phone call & hold time they stated that security would come dispose of it. Shortly there after security came and asked me yet again to get it for him. I firmly told him no, to come in and get it himself. Once all of this was said and figured out we finally were going to get to go to bed so we thought. The bed in room 102 is absolutely horrible. The bed doesn’t fit on the box springs very well. It was the hardest thing I have ever slept on. (I had to make an appt with my chiropractor to get adjusted). The shower curtain in 102 also isn’t long enough to keep water from just running on the floor. (102 is a handicap accessible room so no sidewall to hold water in shower). The toilet seat was for an oblong toilet and the toilet was a normal circle toilet. (Was told as check out from assistant GM they had to have that for it being a handicap room. My opinion is why not have an oblong toilet for the seat your required to have?) Another negative comment is the hot tub was out of service (not anyone’s problem as maintenance/break downs are needed). The pool was also ice cold. So our pool time was short lived.
