Professional Review – Hilton Brand, Fargo, ND
I recently stayed at the Hilton Homewood Suites, Fargo and, unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and fell far below all expectations for a Hilton property. I had booked a two-room suite, anticipating the size and comfort typical of Hilton suites. However, the rooms were unusually small, cramped, and significantly below the standard suite size, making the stay uncomfortable. On the 4th floor, the floor itself vibrated noticeably while lying in bed, to the point that I could feel the bed moving.
There were only two luggage carts available for the entire hotel during both our arrival and departure. The designated luggage cart room was empty of carts, creating a significant inconvenience, especially for guests requiring assistance or with mobility limitations.
The room itself was under-stocked and poorly maintained. The coffee maker did not function properly, filling cups only partially and leaving the coffee cold. The automatic coffee machine in the lobby also lacked water. The coffee in the lobby was either empty or ice cold. Kitchen provisions were minimal: only one tall glass, one small glass, and very few utensils for a four-person suite. Bath towels were limited to three, and the provided wall-mounted lotion dispenser was completely empty. Disturbingly, I found a used baby pacifier under the bedroom dresser, raising serious concerns about housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
Noise was a major issue throughout our stay. The walls were exceptionally thin, and conversations, walking, and TV from the adjacent room were clearly audible. The suite’s layout was also problematic: the walkway between the kitchen table and wall was so narrow that it was difficult to move luggage in or out. Despite multiple live chat Hilton app calls to housekeeping over three nights, missing or inadequate items were provided or restocked as requested. Requests for extra room items upon our arrival were completely ignored.
On the morning of November 16, 2025, I requested a late check-out via the Hilton app. Despite multiple attempts and prior experience with responsive live chat service, no response was received. Additionally, I observed a front female desk employee appearing disengaged, sleeping with head in her hand, and disturbingly unprofessional at 10:30 a.m., which further impacted the perception of service quality.
The hotel was overwhelmingly loud due to numerous teenage sports families occupying the property. The congestion, noise, and lack of consideration for other guests made common areas like the lobby, halls, breakfast area, and elevators highly chaotic. This was entirely unexpected and negatively impacted our ability to relax after a very long commute.
Overall, this stay caused undue stress on my health, particularly as I am managing newly diagnosed heart failure. The property failed to meet basic standards of comfort, cleanliness, and service. The combination of poor management, lack of attention to detail, inadequate room provisions, and disruptive noise led to an unsatisfactory experience. I cannot recommend this Hilton location and will not return in the future. Hilton Fargo must address these deficiencies to meet the expectations associated with the Hilton brand.
