- PCP COct 9, 20254.02 retirees at end of long travel day were checked in by very personable young woman who easily engaged in needed details, even good eateries close by. Facilities, breakfast were up to Hampton standards. One negative was later when an obviously longer-tenured lady, well-versed in the HiltonHonors water bottle policy, quickly let us know “Only members above Silver” qualified for complimentary water. Our thanks go to that younger lady on duty who kindly mentioned an ice machine in the exercise room, accessible w/our key cards. Her gentle assistance made for a good memory, without endangering Hampton’s water bottle inventory. 2 bottles of water would have been a gentle welcome, even if we were ‘Just Silver’ members. Other Hamptons on the West Virginia & Virginia leg of this road trip seemed to understand that the smallest acts of hospitality often make a lasting & positive impression & encourage repeat customers. Bottom line: Know your place in the pecking order & bring your own canteen in Wilkesboro.
