Modern Comfort with Thoughtful Amenities
I had a great stay at the Hampton Inn Southport. The hotel itself was modern, clean, and comfortable throughout. My room was spotless and well-equipped, featuring a microwave, refrigerator, desk, and ample closet and drawer space. The spacious bathroom was stocked with plenty of clean towels, and there was generous room for baggage. I appreciated the abundance of outlets and USB ports—very convenient for charging devices.
Room Comfort and Sleep Quality
While the beds weren’t the most comfortable, the abundance of pillows helped make up for it. Overall, the room setup was functional and well thought out, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
Facilities and Extras
The hotel offers a solid range of amenities, including a business center, a well-equipped gym, and on-site laundry with both coin and mobile payment options. The pool area was a highlight—decently sized with plenty of seating and towels available. It also featured an outdoor restroom and a cozy fire pit, which added a nice touch.
Staff and Service
Hotel staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even more pleasant. However, breakfast service was a notable weak point. While the offerings were fresh and included all the usual favorites—omelets, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, juice, fresh fruit—the attendant did not keep the food stocked. On both mornings of my stay, many families were left with only cereal as other items had run out. It seemed the attendant was focused on topping off condiments rather than replenishing the main dishes and guests were opening cabinets to search for cups and plates. Several families ended up leaving without breakfast.
Final Thoughts
Despite the breakfast hiccup, I would absolutely return and recommend this hotel. The overall experience was positive, and the combination of cleanliness, amenities, and friendly staff made it a worthwhile stay.
