Rarely do I take the time to leave a bad review but will always leave a positive review when I have a good experience. I typically have north of 175 hotel stays per year for work. A majority of those stays are with Hilton Brands as a Diamond member. On top of that my wife and I have been traveling down from New York to support the Wolfpack and our daughter who has cheered for State for her entire college career. My wife’s change in work schedule forced us to cancel our plans to fly down for the game tonight. I called Hilton to see if they can assist with canceling the reservation because it was within the 24 hour period. They reached out to the property but their GM, Kevin Thomas, chose to hide behind their hotel policy for cancellations. I don’t believe I have canceled a reservation on short notice more than twice in the past 5 years. I then asked if I could change the reservation to next weekend because we are coming down for senior night on Friday and Saturday. Not only would Kevin helped me out they would have gotten a second night stay. When loyal customers ask for assistance good practice would be to make an accommodation. That’s why I choose to spend the amount I do with the Hilton Brand. Kevin’s actions are a perfect example of the systemic problem with customer service today. Fantastic job sir. Cheers! Thanks for the response but again you are using a policy to be shorted sighted. It’s about providing good customer service to loyal customers otherwise those programs are useless. That could have been offered at the time of the call. I have since made a reservation for next weekend with another property and wouldn’t want to waste their time. I don’t care about the refund but thank you for the offer.

I had left my room for a class. When I returned, they had serviced my room and threw all my personal food and drinks away. I went to the front desk to let them know. The gentlemen working just said sorry about that. Then charged me for the coke I had to get to replace the one they threw away. Unbelievable customer service!

I'm a loyalty member and I've never been more disappointed in a stay than here. I took my wife out of town for the weekend and we didn't even stay both nights due to how uncomfortable we were. The musty smell, the rusty door frames, the peeling wallpaper, the spiderweb in the drains, and to top it all off, the couch facing our bedroom window.

I booked this hotel several weeks ago to attend our friend's 65th birthday bash. I always book with either the Hilton Honors app or with Expedia, depending on which is less. I booked "pay later /at hotel" option, as per usual and always arrive early and just swipe my card at the desk. I arrive and park at 1:50pm and noticed that I had 2 missed calls (phones are on DND/Drive mode and do not ring) at 11:45 am and at 1:07 pm. One was for me and the other was for my sister. I called Monday night asking the front desk to release one rm because the app would cancel both and not just one and they told me it was done. I come to the desk at 1:57pm to see if my room was ready because I'm traveling with my elderly mother who has cancer and she wants to rest before the party. I am told that my room was canceled and asked if I got a message and I told her that I just played back the message as I was walking in and it was for my sister, who's room I canceled earlier this week. I was told that they could not authorize my card, which I keep on lock until I want to use it. I always arrive early and pay for my room at the counter. The manager walked up after being summoned and said the third party app only shows my phone number and they had just called. I was told to make a new reservation because they could not reinstate the other one and I had to pay almost $80 more for the same room. This is Hilton Garden Inn, not Doubletree Suites or one of their higher tier hotels ! There are a handful of cars in the parking lot and they are price gouging people. It would have made sense if it were at check in time of 3pm. I show up over an hour before and you canceled my room? I called the Hilton Honors desk and they took a report but when they called, the hotel manager told them I had not been charged ! I will be contacting corporate to follow up because I have been a loyal Hilton customer for at least 20 years and have never had a room canceled before my arrival, even when I fly in and get there late at night. Do NOT stay at this hotel (which was suggested by the party host) unless you want to deal with inept management. The manager could have just done an override but they prefer to be on a power trip !
