- CKChelsea KeySep 9, 20254.0Overall, this was a decent hotel stay. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the basic accommodations were provided. However, a few details kept it from being a great experience. First, the window. The pull-down shade blocked no light—it was practically see-through. Streetlights, car headlights, and even lit signs outside were still visible, and the curtains were decorative only, so they couldn’t be closed. As a result, the room stayed bright throughout the night and lit up completely at sunrise around 6 a.m. If you need darkness to sleep, this will be a problem. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t install proper blackout curtains or at least a functional light-blocking shade. Second, the bathroom. The lighting around the mirror was far too dim—I had to use my phone’s flashlight to put on makeup. The floor also didn’t feel very clean; I even noticed an old contact lens left in the corner that hadn’t been swept up. These may seem like small issues, but they add up, especially if you value a dark room for sleeping and a well-lit, clean bathroom.
