Everything about this place is great, with the sole exception of how loud the rooms are. Even if you get a top floor, you might not have people above your head but you can hear your neighbors in the adjoining suite as if they were sitting in your living room. Their phone ringing, TV, nose blowing, burping, opening a can of soda, conversations of any kind, coughing, unpacking groceries…you name it, you can hear it. The privacy between suites is nonexistent. And for those who don’t experience this issue., it’s because they themselves are the noisemakers. This is our second year coming here and we had the same issue last year, brought it to management’s attention, and are disappointed to see/hear that it hasn’t been resolved in the last year. All it would take would be insulating the adjoining door between suites with an exterior door that is insulated, because right now it’s a flimsy interior door that provides no separation of noise whatsoever. We love this place otherwise - great location, service, space, amenities, etc. But we will have to think about coming back due to the extreme lack of privacy between units.

Buyer beware - the accommodations are intentionally misrepresented by Hilton and the third party booking sites. I booked a three bedroom suite (1 King, 1 Queen and 2 twins) for me, my husband, two kids and elderly in laws for late December. It was only after searching for nearby activities and restaurants that I found reviews and photos cautioning that these are actually annexed structures - not within a hotel, and there are no less than 30 stairs to climb. Oddly enough I couldn't find any of this information or these photos at the Hilton website or any other third party booking site. I attempted several times to explain that my in laws cannot navigate these stairs safely and I needed to cancel my booking to find more accessible places to stay. Even though I had also purchased a "booking protection plan", the Hilton and Expedia refused to cancel my reservation for a full refund, instead both companies pointing the finger at each other. *Photos attached are not mine, they were taken from a travel site.

We had a great family stay. We partook in their activities and pedal boats. Beautiful property. There was a minor cleanliness issue in the pullout couch and they were quick to correct the situation. We will be back.

Very clean with friendly professional staff. Large units, somewhat rustic and within mile of beach but weather remained cloudy and overcast

I’d like to start by saying, the customer service here was absolutely terrible. We booked with booking, put in the amount of people we were going to have on our trip with us & booked one of the rooms it recommended. When we arrived, right off the bat the lady we spoke to was rude. We had 7 people on this trip, my husband our 3 kids & my 2 sisters. The lady said the room we booked was only for up to 4 people.. we explained to her multiple times we had 3 children with us. She called her manager, who told her we were only to receive 4 wristbands, and insisted on WATCHING the 2nd car leave, with 3 people in it. We offered to pay to upgrade, to which she said the place was “fully booked”. We ended up having to cancel, and had to search all over the outer banks for a new hotel, at 8pm on a Friday night because we did drive hours to get there. We were told on Friday, that the manager was going to call booking to let them know we canceled.. they have yet to do that. This place is extremely unprofessional, it wasn’t a mess up on OUR end but on theirs & booking. In the end, we ended up having 3 upset children, & out over $1000. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
