We were renting a house for a week with friends, and due to the long drive, we arrived the day before and stayed overnight in the hotel. The location is great and the lobby is beautiful, but the bedroom was just ok. We got the one bedroom suite with the sofabed for our son in the living room. It was like a medieval torture device. He’s slept on a lot of sofabeds in our travels and this was by far the worst one. The actual floor would have been more comfortable. The king bed in the bedroom had decent pillows and the mattress was ok, but the duvet had no cover and clearly hadn’t been washed in awhile and the bed cover was a white polyester that was dirty and scratchy and ugly. They provided coffee maker with one pod and two cups for a room that sleeps four. Not a comfortable stay. I think they are relying on their premium location to get bookings but the guest experience isn’t great.

This Hilton delivered a 5 star experience across the board !
From the look, feel and clean, refreshing smell (lobby, elevator, halls , room) ... To the polite and helpful staff ... To a restaurant that is easily the best on the Outer Banks (I had a ribeye that was the best presented and taste I've ever had) ... To location and views ... To proximity to an awesome pier ... To location between the south atmosphere and the northern atmosphere of the Banks ... This place met and exceeded a couples expectations for my 70th birthday celebration !

Definitely wasn't a knock out experience! The lobby is the best feature apparently. Our ocean view room had poor water pressure and the bathroom fan didn't function at all. Manager asked rudely if he could "send somebody up," so I "politely " declined! The place wasn't what you'd expect from a Hilton Hotel.

The digital keys do not work on any of the outside doors to the building. I expect much better from a Hilton hotel the coffee is horrible. If you want a good coffee go to the cafe downstairs and pay for one, the free coffee machine is crap. Tastes like nothing but chemicals. Don't eat food in the cafe downstairs it's the typical crappy Hotel food, it's not real food. And they charge you an arm and a leg, $6 for one pancake is Highway robbery. Especially when it's not even real food.

4th time here. First 3 were great with fairly clean rooms and no hiccups. This trip has left a lot to be desired. First room had a bad smell, so we moved to the next available option. The second room has had roaches (3 big and alive, 20ish small and dead). The fridge has a smell that sticks even to canned beverages. The bathroom has a smell, kind smokey but not, that doesn't go away. AC is loud even after servicing.
I think the money was all spent at the renovation, which left some things unchanged. Now, 2 seasons later and things are unmaintained and slipping.
Room below ours has about 17 large roaches outside it. I'm guessing it is a bigger problem than the room.
Some pictures of the bugs are here. Wish I took more, but I didn't think it was going to be as big of a problem.
