I’ve stayed at Hampton Inns all across the country and found reliably decent accommodations. However, my stay at this Kinston location is an exception. The room smelled of lingering cigarette smoke. The ceiling was peeling. The “adjoining door” had some sort of stain where something dripped down the door. The bathroom door was delaminating. The breakfast area had a sanitation grade “B”. I hope I didn’t bring home bedbugs. The staff was friendly enough and the common areas were clean and inviting (except for the visible office chair that was obvious and worn out) The property is in dire need of refurbishing or demolishing.

Stayed this past weekend. Room needs a deep cleaning. Specially the bathroom. The bed looked and felt old. The room smelled old and though keeping the temp low it felt very humid. The bathroom is very, very small. The place definitely needs an upgrade. Staff and service was great.

My family was displaced due to a house fire and we received the worse treatment from the site manager. Mist of the staff were great but not the manager. In fact we were told that we would have to get all our stuff and move for 2 days, and then we could come back because they were fully booked for the wwekend ahead. Then we tried to go out and relax by the pool to just get some son. Then we were told the pool season is closed and no one even 3 adults could not sit near that area. So when we moved to the Fairfield at checkout which we had to do at 230 pm because we had to pack up and go to a more accommodating hotel we were charge for another full day. Not like normal Hitlon properties where they prorate the day you leave if after 11 am. The rooms are dark, and not cleaned very well. I would advise against staying here as the manager has zero compassion for anything but money.
