Our stay was outstanding. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast. Could really use an automated pancake machine (less mess than a waffle iron)

Great experience at Homewood Suites! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Room was clean and nicely decorated. We did have one issue arise with a clogged toilet but the lady at the desk when I called was super helpful, she brought a plunger up to us, and when it didn’t work she happily agreed to move us to a new room across the hall since the maintenance man was already gone for the evening! Super great customer service in my book! The room we were moved to was much bigger than our first and truly showed what the hotel has to offer! Thank you Hilton for a great stay!

Me and my long distance bf booked one night here to break up a 14 hour drive from Georgia to Goldsboro and back. We had a horrible check in experience. Showed up at 11:00 for check in. As soon as we walked in the check in lady was shooting me weird looks. This was my first time staying in a hotel without my parents. I told her we had booked a one bedroom. She looked at me like I was insane and asked for my ID. She told me that since I was a local there would be a $250 fee added to my price. That would have made a hotel that I booked for $170 $444 exactly. So I told her to cancel my reservation and went to leave. However my bf who has an out of state ID realized he could book for us and we could avoid the charge. We got up to our room and it was very clean modern and spacious. The only problem with the room itself was that the toilet was clogged upon arrival and the water pressure was bad in the shower. We called the front desk to see if we could get someone to bring a plunger up so we could fix the toilet and she informed us that she not only had to find one and she would call us back but also that we would have to come down ourselves and get it. She let us know that it was because they were understaffed, and she wasn’t capable of leaving the front desk, which I understand. However, it was inconvenient given, we had both already dressed down into our pajamas, ready to go to sleep, and had to get fully dressed to go retrieve the plunger. Overall, the stay was nice, but as far as customer service goes, I felt very looked down upon and like I didn’t deserve to be here. Shame on the company as well for deterring locals from staying here so much. How can you be more obvious about marketing to people who not only just have money to burn but are also from out of state.

I stayed here for a week back in June for a business trip. I will definitely be back and I tell everyone about this location who is staying in the area. The staff was amazing. Super nice. The food and drinks at the bar were great. They even have a workout room as well. I specifically picked this location because it is close to Wayne Community College and the room had a kitchen. I have food allergies and it makes traveling for work difficult. This hotel made it so easy with the kitchen and there was a Harris Teeter near by. I did wish it had an indoor pool as I like to swim laps but then mostly likely the price would have been more.

This hotel is a great example of a hotel that fails at the basics. We were there for a kids soccer showcase. Most of the time when a hotel knows they are set to have a heavy occupancy weekend they staff and prepare accordingly. That was not the case here. I'm not sure who the manager was that was working nights throughout the weekend of 12/5-12/7 but they left a woman who had just started at the front desk to handle the majority of the evening. Upon check in, the manager was much more interested in chatting with their friends than assisting the new hire. Then left the new hire for a significant amount of time. The new hire did their best and was very friendly but we couldn't get basic questions answered until we came back to the hotel later. When we returned the hallways reeked of marijuana, so much so that folks we rode the elevator with said it was throughout the entire building. Once reported the team did spray. The next day we waited at the front desk for over 10 minutes for someone to come out. We tried calling the hotel, no one answered. Eventually I had to walk to find someone to get them to go find the front desk team. It turned out that four of the staff were in a meeting room leaving the front desk completely unattended. There was no sign at the desk with instructions on what to do if we needed assistance. Then when the manager finally did come up, she made it seem like it was an inconvenience for her to have to sell us laundry detergent & dryer sheets. If you don't want to have to help people get supplies for the laundry room, perhaps remove the laundry room. Breakfast was awful. In an attempt to try to make it "upscale" there was breakfast tacos that were not good, overcooked eggs and overnight oats that looked awful. The regular coffee was out for over 15 minutes, they didn't have 2% milk, half and half or any of the coffee basics available. It would have been better to do bacon, eggs and chicken sausage with coffee and nail it than to offer so much and do it all poorly. They were accommodating when I asked for a late checkout but I really expected better from a Hilton.
