We stayed at this hotel in Charlotte for 5 nights over the New Year holidays. Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The room was spacious, breakfasts were tasty with a good variety of options, and the location was convenient.
The only downside was cleanliness — the room itself was fairly clean, but the hallways could have been better maintained.

Location is absolutely great. Restaurants, Hospitals, CVS - everything close by. Absolutely worth.
There was no housekeeping services entire weekend (as per their policy). This is something which I was not happy about as you don’t want to come back in the evening and then do your bed/clean - even if it is for couple of days. When we had checked in, we found a glove (housekeeping) on the bedroom floor, a chocolate wrapper and. Gummy lying on the floor near the bed. So, not sure if it was cleaned in a rush. Bathrooms were clean. They need to change the drapes as they were torn. They also need to ensure that the blanket labels were taken off as they were very rough (while using the blankets/sheet) - I guess it might be due to repeated laundry.
Breakfast service was good - the team who worked in this area were welcoming, with a smile and efficient. Spread was good - cereals, fruits, waffles, breads, eggs etc.
Rooms were spacious, full kitchen.
Check in and check out were smooth .

After a day of travel with three young kids when we checked into the hotel upon arrival, we were initially checked into a room that was mistakenly marked as clean when it was, in fact, not guest ready. We were then relocated to a room with one bed, which was not ideal for our family of five. Finally nearly after midnight we moved to the third room which was appropriate for our family of 5 and the reservation we booked.
After finally getting checked in and settled and the kids asleep we were awoken at 5:00 am by barking dogs on and off for about an hour.
When reporting the above incidence to Dannette, she stated Brittany was not in and that they also had a different system and she would have to wait for Brittany to get in touch with me to find a resolution. I had to call the hotel a few times after we checked out to get a response from Brittany. Brittany offered us IHG reward points to amount to a complimentary nights stay at a IHG property, and about a 30% partial refund.
To add to the poor management/communication , I have yet to see any refund from Dannette or Brittany.
After this attempt at a resolution, I expressed that we were not satisfied as we will likely not return to another IHG property as we have lost trust in the management and the way things have been handled.
Edit: to respond to the comment by the manager I did not refuse the refund, I have emails and phone records to prove I attempted following up and the only way I was responded to after leaving a 1 star review was management falsely stating they would provide a partial refund and points, and then publicly stating that I refused

Very nice staff thats what was the saving grace. Food was very low quality green discolored eggs. Great location cheap closet doors for a bedroom like 40 dollar doors. Overall I expected more from the brand again the friendly GREAT staff was the saving grace

We recently stayed at this hotel for a tournament for our son. I also had to work remotely from the room the entire week, including multiple virtual meetings with global senior leaders that I had to attend.
While the presentation of the room was decent (a lot of visible dust on multiple areas though), the actual working of the room was less than desirable. On the first day, we found problems with the following:
Bathroom Sink - Drain stopper was lodged into the drain (resolved)
Telephone - Dialing to the front desk to request for help wasn’t configured properly, requiring me to call the front desk via my cell phone (not resolved).
Dishwasher - Not Working (not resolved)
Sink Disposal - Not Working. Assuming it’s working on the same circuit as the dishwasher (not resolved). Had to handwash all dishes the entire week.
Pullout bed - Urine stains on the sheet (not resolved). This upset me as my 6’1” son had to sleep uncomfortably on the loveseat the entire week.
Someone from the front desk said they would put us into another room and also reducing our rate by $50, which never happened (will need to dispute this with Amex). Both a woman and man at the front desk said they would let the manager know, but was never contacted directly. The sink issue was resolved quickly, but the rest was a complete zero.
The other amenities that were used was the hot breakfast and the early week reception. That was the only highlight of this stay. The housekeepers did drop by daily to switch towels - not sure if there was a lack of speaking English and whether they were supposed to clean the rooms as well. Public areas were well maintained and clean
I understand that the hotel was packed due to the Pop Warner tournament. Football programs were forced to shell out a lot of money (above what the actual room rate we paid) to stay at these required places. While there were unruly kids, we had valid issues with the room and felt like they were unresponsive (maybe guilty by association). I am working virtually and expect to have a comfortable stay.
Very disappointed as we have had great experiences with the IHG brand, especially the Holiday Inn.
