Wonderful hotel! Great location on a lake. Stopped on our way through to DC. The Lakefront Restaurant located in the hotel is a great place to have breakfast. Made to order omelets & homemade pastries. We will be back!

There was a gaming convention going on during our visit that we were not aware of when booking. The hotel allowed people attending the convention (but not staying in the hotel) to park in the parking lot. There were also construction trailers blocking at least 16 spaces, plus they had blocked off parking spaces for food trucks. When we returned around 9:00 pm on the first night, there was nowhere to park. When I asked the front desk about it, they couldn't care less, and told me to figure it out on my own. People ended up parking literally anywhere they could fit their vehicle. On our last morning, we saw multiple vehicles had smashed windows. This is not a safe place to stay, and we will not stay here again.

The place is gorgeous. The staff is attentive and pleasant. There are a lot of places to eat within walking distance. The beds are apocalyptically bad. I am USMC. I am also a security professional with forty years experience. I have slept in the desert. I have been booked at fleabag motels that threw a blanket on a board and called it a bed. I have never had a worse night's sleep. To call these things firm is an understatement worthy of congress. I would rather sleep on the lightning arrestor than the pile of rocks disguised as a bed!

I'm sure there is nothing they can do but this place is NOT safe. ELEVEN (11) vehicle break ins last night. You know it's bad when the hotel has a dedicated crew to clean up and vacuum broken in vehicles and prep them to drive in the morning. Send in the national guard - Charlotte is GONE. Try the suburbs. Deep in the suburbs

If you drive a truck it will get broken into. The hotel don’t care. We got hit 5 yrs ago and then again last weekend. Several of us got hit. When speaking with CMPD they said that hotel gets hit every night. Hotel owner don’t care bc they get booked a lot bc sports team close to UNCC. Maybe the insurance carrier will force the owner to put in gates that needs swipe key to get in and out to stop the breakins. So if you drive a large SUV or truck don’t stay here
