The rooms were large. The bed was comfortable. Having a full kitchen was great! Staff was friendly. Internet coverage was good.
Parking was very full, and there was no access from the larger back parking lot, so it wasn't overly convenient to find a parking spot on our arrival.
Water pressure in the shower, as well as anything more than warm water, was problematic. I adjusted the showerhead, but still wasn't able to get much pressure. Noise levels were not problematic. Common spaces were well set up. The pool does not include a hot tub, but looked nice enough.
I only took in breakfast one morning, but it was a mess. The set up could definitely be improved. First of all, the food is located in a separate room, down the hall from the reception desk, seating area and store area. Two girls were using the waffle machines, which are at the beginning of the line. They were blocking access to the plates, and therefore the rest of the hot food, and this created a line up down the hallway, that spanned longer than the length of the room. I was the third person waiting in line, and finally asked if the girls might move aside, while their waffles cooked, allowing others to get plates. This sped things up immeasurably, and the guy ahead of me thanked me for taking control. The staff were hard pressed to get enough hot food out, though, as well as adequate plates. I grabbed a couple of things, but tried to verify that the item marked as oatmeal was actually oatmeal. I asked someone else in line, and she said she didn't know, but it was awful the day before! I'm pretty sure it was actually grits, as it was unlike any oatmeal/porridge I have ever had (and I've been eating oatmeal all of my life). We were at a different HOme2Suites, with an open concept food counter, and it ran much more smoothly.
Finally, we ended up having to cut our visit short, due to a winter storm blowing through our travel route home. We inquired about an earlier check-out, but were told there was no way we could be accommodated. This happened to us with a different Hilton brand hotel in Kalispell, years ago, and they were very understanding of the situation, and did not charge us for the early departure. The bill I was given at check out included the three nights we had stayed, but an emailed invoice included all four nights.
The hotel definitely has potential. It's in a neighbourhood that is currently on the northern outskirts of Kalispell, but businesses, including the new Costco, are going up at a fast pace. The rooms are well appointed, and are great for extended stays. I think with a little more work, items that were not to our liking, could be improved. It was also great to travel with our dogs, as there was plenty of grass, and a park area right beside/behind the hotel.
