Location is convenient. Well-done addition to Union Station incorporating much of the original build into the hotel, especially the lobby. Staff are very kind even if too casual and on auto-pilot; All front desk staff offered similar, robotic, almost-scripted responses during all interactions. There seems be an huge communication gap between the front desk and all other departments, particularly with housekeeping. Probably a one-off at the end of a long, busy week for the staff, which they all mentioned more then once. But on this stay we received better guest service from the Hilton app--letting us know when our room was ready, providing a key, and statement at checkout--than we received from any individual in the front office. Again, everyone was extremely kind and the property is as expected for Curio.

Major wow factor here. The room rates were reasonable (weekday rates cut the price almost in half from weekend rates). The front desk staff was helpful and courteous. Our kids loved the scavenger hunts, the light show, and just exploring the building. We didn’t eat any of the food because wait times were too long and we have children. But there are plenty of delicious (and probably better) options nearby. We ate well within a mile radius of the hotel. All the major museums/attractions were a quick drive away and we never faced heavy traffic.
My two biggest issues were
1. Room cleanliness: Despite being well maintained and clean upon first glance, it could use a deep clean. The lower shelves and headboard/box spring were very dusty, and there were a lot of crumbs in the couch and chair cushions.
2. Parking/hotel access: Signage was terrible for check in (see attached photo, so small with an arrow that doesn’t point to anywhere in particular), and the walk is kind of arduous through a maze of various other union station patrons. There is no designated parking lot just for the hotel and the lots are so expensive ($40 per night). One night we came back from dinner to find that they were letting hockey fans park there in order to attend a nearby hockey game. What are hotel patrons supposed to do?? If reviews for valet weren’t so bad we would have just done that. The small up-charge would be worth not facing the hassle of self-parking.
Other than that we would definitely stay again and pick a less busy season and note the website calendar for special events.

UPDATE:
After being asked to update my review, I feel it’s important to share what has happened since posting it.
Since leaving my original review, I have been contacted by five different people, all at different times, all referencing the review. One contact even came through at 2:43 AM, which felt completely inappropriate. The communication has been inconsistent, uncoordinated, and overwhelming rather than helpful.
What has been most frustrating is the apparent belief that Hilton Honors points equal resolution. We were given 50,000 points — and anyone familiar with the Hilton app knows this does not even cover a single night. More importantly, we were never seeking compensation. We were seeking accountability, consistency, and reassurance that the issues we experienced would not happen again.
The most insulting moment came from being told that they were “not able to compensate further.” That statement completely missed the point. Compensation was never the issue — customer service was.
I’m still unclear whether the individuals reaching out were local representatives or corporate, but the lack of coordination and basic customer service etiquette has only reinforced my disappointment.
At this point, I cannot recommend staying here. The property itself is beautiful, but the follow-through, communication, and handling of guest concerns have been deeply disappointing.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the valet staff were outstanding — kind, welcoming, and very informative, especially since I wasn’t sure which parking option I had purchased. They made a great first impression.
Unfortunately, our check-in experience was frustrating. The front desk associate was not informative or welcoming and did not explain the Park and Stay package we had booked. We were told parking was not included and would cost an additional $40–$50, then told it would be “thrown in” without clear explanation. We were also not informed about hotel amenities or directions beyond being told to use the “gold elevator over there.”
After finally getting to our room, we noticed an additional $50 charge, which we initially believed was for parking. After returning from the Blues game later that evening, we stopped at the front desk and spoke with another associate who was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to investigate, explained it was a mistake, and let us know the first associate was new. She also said she would speak with a manager, which we appreciated.
We also discovered that the executive lounge access we had paid for was already closed by the time we learned about it, resulting in us missing several hours of something we weren’t informed about during check-in. Additionally, our room did not have washcloths.
That said, we truly appreciate that the hotel corrected the additional charge and deposit and provided us with a discounted rate. This was not expected but was very much appreciated and helped make things right.
We were visiting to celebrate our anniversary, and while parts of the experience were disappointing, the hotel’s beauty and the professionalism of some staff members give me hope that this was simply an inconsistency in service. With better communication at check-in, this would easily be a place we’d consider returning to.

This was fine but extremely overpriced and I wish we would’ve spent the money somewhere else closer to downtown. Upon check in the front desk worker wasn’t listening, seemed dismissive and didn’t answer several of my questions. Our room was all the way at the very end of a hall in the non-historic section of the hotel which was not why I booked here. We hauled our bags over only to find that there were dirty dishes outside, both keys he gave us didn’t work, and the app would not check us in for a digital key, so we had to turn right back around to get another room.
Our room was fine and the beds were comfortable but the bathtub/shower was covered in mold and stains. What really disappointed me was the Executive Lounge. There was hot breakfast the two weekend mornings but it was extremely limited and not good; the powdered eggs were gross. (The service was excellent.) However, after breakfast there was zero reason to stop by- no snacks available one day (a few bags of chips and gummies the next), and no dinner or hot snacks as advertised and as told to me by the employees. If you visit the lounge for breakfast, and don’t find many options, then you still forfeit your ability to go to the regular breakfast downstairs with way more. There was also a sign when we arrived that said breakfast was randomly not offered earlier that morning, making the lounge effectively just a room to sit in. There was no $15 credit offered at this location either. Absolutely not worth the extra money if you choose and I’m super bummed that was my first experience using my Diamond status at this particular location.
Also a note for anyone with difficulties walking that their parking is around the corner and a haul if you have heavy bags. The sign at the gate is also misleading as you can’t scan your roomkey to exit and need to bring the paper slips they give you at the front desk in order to leave while staying in the $40 pricing cap.
Rooms are nice, however this place is large and your room could be as much as a 100 yards away from elevators, also food is non existent the grill is closed, the main ball room is full of people drinking all evening so there are no tables to get, the station shack has a 2 hour wait and the hamburger joint you can get in after 30 minutes but it will cost you $30 a person. There is no room service and you can't order carry out from any of them really it's not that much for the hassle or price. We did do the polar Express and I would give it 4 stars just because the kids liked it, but the hot chocolate is less than Luke warm and the cups are small so it's gone before you even start...
