PLEASE BE AWARE: I CONTRACTED HOT TUB FOLLICULITIS AT HILTON HOTEL / ROCHESTER MAYO THIS DECEMBER. Approximately 60 postules broke out all over my torso after using the hot tub for several hours during my three day stay. This condition was diagnosed by a doctor at an urgent care facility (I was too concerned to wait to see my primary care doctor) and includes bad malaise and a headache. My husband had eye pain also related to the bacteria in the hot tub. Hot tub folliculitis is caused by poor hot tub maintenance, including bad PH levels, inadequate chlorine and heat. I notified manager Bruno Pereira about this, and I've contacted the Olmsted County Department of Health. Manager Pereira was dismissive of my concerns. ***Medically vulnerable patients should be wary of staying at this hotel.****

Extremely convenient for appointments at Mayo. It's nice for the wintertime as the hotel is connected to Mayo via a skywalk, so you don't have to go outside. They're extremely accommodating and understanding with appointments - allowing for a later checkout, holding of luggage, etc. Pay for valet parking - it's worth it!

My son had a major operation at Mayo this week. This hotel is a gem. I am going to tell you why. 1. The staff - so kind, helpful and understanding. Many guests are here for medical reasons. The staff goes above and beyond to help guests. They are friendly, kind and so accommodating. There are wheelchairs available should you need one. 2. The rooms are kept meticulously clean. The cleaning staff is also very helpful. I needed some extra wash cloths- no problem. They made sure we had fresh waters in the room at all times. The hotel is relatively new, and they take good care of it, so I felt like everything was clean and aesthetically pleasing. 3. The hotel has Escalades and S Class vehicles at the ready to transport guests between the various Mayo sites. This service is complimentary. Yes, I said complimentary. This has been immensely helpful for us. Parking can be tricky at Mayo, so not having to deal with it has been great. I had a rental car, but ended up leaving it in the hotel parking garage. It was amazing to have this option. It was one less stressor, during an already stressful time. They drove us back and forth to the hospital and offered to take us to appointments. Amazing. 4. I know hotel food isn’t anything to write home about, but the food here has been quite good. Fresh fruit at every breakfast. Coffee was great. I had access to the Executive Lounge- if this is something you can pay for, I would encourage you to do so. They prepared dinner for guests nightly from 5:40-7:30 pm. It made it easy for me to grab a quick dinner and some water, while still being available to care for my son. There were veg and nonveg options. Food was fresh and good. 5. The Hilton is connected to Mayo via the pedestrian sky bridge and subway system. If you wish, it’s quite easy to enter this system from the second floor of the hotel. We utilized it to go to appointments at Mayo this week. 6. You can login to Netflix / Apple on your room TV. If you have a loved one who is resting, this is so lovely. I will always be grateful to this Hilton for their help during our visit to Mayo. Thank you Hilton Rochester.

I always stay here for my Mayo check ups. The valet service and rides to and from your appointments are convenient and the guys are fabulous! I'd say everyone is great... the front desk people are not the best though. Rooms are also great.

This is the best place to stay when visiting the Mayo Clinic. The staff is fantastic. The hotel is connected to the clinic by skyways & subways (10 - 15 minute walk) making it bearable to be there in winter plus they offer free rides to the clinic. The hotel is dog friendly too.
