I booked a reservation through Booking.com for a king standard room on January 3, 2026. Upon arrival, I noticed stains on the linen. I called the front desk to request new sheets, no response after over an hour. So I went down to the front desk for an update. Housekeeping management showed up with new sheets and stated that they do not offer same day housekeeping services so I was forced to change the sheets myself, to which I saw the sheets had a giant stain on them and the mattress. Absolutely unacceptable. No compensation for my experience and still no response from management. This all followed after being denied an early check in accommodation although the hotel was not busy, as stated by other staff in passing. 0/10 recommendation.

When I enter a hotel I like to be greeted by the desk staff. Their demeanor sets the tone for my stay. My greeting by Brittani and Angel was exceptional! Friendly, happy , informative and efficient. Brittani continued to follow up during our 4 day stay. The lobby was well laid out, colorful and inviting. The hallway was clean and bright. The room was well planned - plenty of light and outlets. It was not plush, like a $500/night hotel, but very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and bright with plenty of shelf space and three wall hooks. The walk in shower had a grab bar (which, surprisingly, many hotels don’t). The included breakfast was good. An array of hot and cold choices and fruits.

Not the best but not the worst! Decided to stay at this Hilton to give it a try on a trip from Canada. Love the design of the room and the lobby. I could have sworn I checked into a room on the 5th floor and when I got my digital key closer to arrival, it gave me a room on the 2nd. We were only there for a day so we didn’t complain. The room was decent, some spots were missed when sweeping/mopping from the custodians and a yellow rag was left in the sink but we just put it aside and left it be since it was a short stay. I figured much wouldn’t be done anyways. Good for 3 adults! Beds were comfortable but 3 pillows on each bed is a weird number since it’s usually 4 pillows on each queen/king bed if I were to compare to other hotels. Didn’t interact with staff as much since we walked right into our room. Breakfast was decent but it was good enough! We had pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, eggs and sausage patties. I enjoyed the atmosphere during breakfast. Would I stay here again? If the price was good yes, otherwise I would rather go to my regular Hilton just up the road.

The hotel is nice and up to date. The pool is NOT heated. We stopped for a staycation and the kids could barely swim it was so cold. Lastly, the cleaning products are heavily scented if your sensative to smell.

Ongoing Operational & Accessibility Failures – Tru by Hilton Troy, MI This review reflects multiple stays at this property and documents a pattern of unresolved issues, not a single occurrence. During our most recent stay, we declined full room service on Christmas as a courtesy, but specifically requested basic replenishment only: • Replacement body soap (we had two shampoos, one empty body soap, and body lotion placed where soap should be) • Hand soap (all dispensers were completely empty) Despite this request, no corrective action was taken. The attached photos document unsanitary conditions, including visible buildup on the wall and headboard. These are basic housekeeping standards that were not met. This is particularly concerning given that similar issues were raised during prior stays, including a previous written complaint to management. At that time, concerns were acknowledged but not resolved, and the same problems continue to occur. In addition to cleanliness, there are ongoing accessibility and safety concerns that appear to go unaddressed: • Repeated use of designated handicapped parking by non-disabled guests • No apparent enforcement or intervention by staff • Guests with mobility challenges are forced to navigate icy parking conditions, increasing risk of slips or injury • These conditions were observed consistently, not as isolated incidents For a Hilton-branded property, this reflects gaps in operational oversight, housekeeping quality control, and accessibility awareness. The lack of response to repeated feedback suggests a systemic issue rather than an isolated lapse. Given the recurring nature of these concerns, this location would benefit from review by regional or corporate operations to ensure standards, accessibility expectations, and guest safety responsibilities are being met. Photos are included for documentation.
