Upon checking in and requesting information regarding a business providing a credit card for my stay, the check in staff was dismissive, rolled their eyes when I asked questions, and provided incorrect information. I made several calls requesting to speak with a manager, and was placed on hold indefinitely. Staff rolled their eyes and acted exasperated when I continued to ask questions for clarification. The hostility was inappropriate. Their apologies does not change the dismissive, hostile behavior.

I was attacked at this hotel Friday, 11/15 in the elevator by another hotel guest. It totally ruined my trip to New Orleans. I received multiple wounds including a broken nose.
The hotel staff was not helpful. They weren’t sympathetic. They are not showing any urgency about who finding who attacked me. They didn’t really seem to care. The perpetrator is still staying at the hotel to my knowledge. I’m really disappointed in the Hilton and I will never stay in one again.

Recently stayed here while my spouse was in town for work. Overall, we thought the hotel was excellent for spending time in New Orleans. I’ll share the reason for 4 stars in a bit. We are actually keeping it in mind for future travel to NO, even if we’re not coming for work. The location in the Central Business District is great—you are so close to many eating options, the French Quarter is close enough to walk to but you’re also not right in the middle of all the action there, so it’s much calmer. There are multiple streetcar stops nearby as well.
Our final room was great—lots of space, super comfortable bed, nice couch for lounging, a mini refrigerator and microwave, and a gigantic bathroom (tip: to get hot water for the shower, only turn the nozzle a little bit. If you turn it all the way down, it gets very cold).
Hotel issue: we booked this hotel quite a while ago. Our arrival was very late at night. When we checked in, they didn’t have our room available (we’d upgraded to a suite). First, it came across as if there was no room for us, which was not want you to hear at midnight. Then there was something about a maintenance issue preventing us from getting into our actual room. The hotel employee was working hard to get this all straightened out & did apologize for the inconvenience. She then put us in a corner room for the night, gave us a credit to use at the restaurant &/or hotel store, and assured us that we could move into our suite the following morning. Thank you Tory!! The room for that night was lovely & huge (most NO hotel rooms are tiny), with fabulous windows. We went down to the check-in area first thing the following morning and were given keycards & our new room number & told to take all the time we needed to move rooms.
The reason I’m giving 4 stars for service is because it makes no sense to me how our reserved room was not available at midnight but was available by 8 am the very next day…it’s stressful as a traveler to be told there’s not a room available at midnight when you arrive and you know you had a reservation. With that said, I’m appreciative to Tory for making sure we had somewhere to sleep that night & for getting us set up for the remainder of our trip. Five stars for Tory, for sure.
Food nearby: there is a restaurant attached to the hotel—Luke. Food is delicious. I’d recommend making reservations for dinner, as they are popular and busy.
Cafe Beignet is a local chain with 2 locations very nearby on Canal. The beignets are delicious (we prefer to get them at Cafe Beignet rather than Cafe du Monde most of the time). They also have a great breakfast menu & there’s a lunch menu too, but we did not try that.
Olive is a small Mediterranean restaurant on 339 Carondelet; the street behind the hotel. Fantastic food, quick service, friendly people. Highly recommend!
Peche: local restaurant within walking distance for dinner or lunch (800 Magazine). Food is delicious, service is excellent. Definitely make reservations if you want to eat here. They are very popular & fill up fast.
French Truck Coffee: another local business & there’s a location on the corner of Canal & St. Charles—just a few blocks from hotel. They’ve got pastries, yogurt, fruit, and a few other food items, in addition to coffees and teas. Definitely makes for an easy breakfast & I enjoyed everything I tried there.
I’m honestly so disappointed with Hilton.
I arrived super late at night, after a 20-hour flight, completely exhausted.
At check-in, I even asked the front desk if I could change rooms — I didn’t need two double beds, just one bed would’ve been fine.
She told me there were no available rooms, but if anything opened up, she’d let me know the next day.
Then I got to the room… and it was gross.
The bathroom was moldy, the water pressure was super weak, and even the door lock had mold on it. 😩
But since I was told there were no other rooms, and I was way too tired to deal with it, I just decided to let it go and get some sleep.
By the third day, I seriously couldn’t take it anymore.
When I was cleaning up some trash, I realized the trash bin was disgusting, and then the toilet got clogged.
When I asked them to fix it, I also mentioned the dirty room, the mold, and the weak water pressure.
The front desk lady — the same one from day one — was super rude.
She said, “You didn’t complain on the first day, and you’ve already stayed a few nights. I don’t think this is our problem.”
Excuse me?? Are you implying I made the room dirty?
I told her, “I don’t think mold grows this much in just three days.”
And she just said, “Well, there are no rooms anyway.”
Later I checked online — and guess what?
There were clearly still available rooms on Hilton’s official website.
I called the front desk again, and she cut me off mid-sentence, saying, “Those booking sites oversell. It’s not our problem. You just want to change rooms, right? You didn’t complain on day one.”
At that point, I was done.
I didn’t complain on day one because I was trying to be patient, not because everything was fine.
I’m not a difficult guest — I was just tired and trying to be polite.
But apparently, patience just gets taken for granted.
Honestly, this Hilton stay was a total disappointment. 👎

This was my first experience of deleting a review just to give it another shot, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure—though not the kind I was hoping for. My stay at the hotel was a mixed bag, and unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives.
Upon check-in, we were assigned Room 504, and the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a truly appalling sight: a dirty toilet festooned with little hairs. It was absolutely revolting. The bathtub, stained black from what looked like an ancient anti-slip mat, was in desperate need of a thorough scrubbing. Even after we had housekeeping come in, we found the same little hairs lingering, which made me wonder if they were using cleaning rags that had seen better days. Words can't fully capture my disappointment.
But the misadventures didn’t stop there. The view from our room was a dismal alley featuring a rusted fireplace, which didn’t exactly scream “luxury getaway.” To add insult to injury, the TV welcomed us with messages meant for two other guests—“Ryan” and “Thomas”—and when I called the front desk to address the issue, the staff member sounded downright exasperated. Initially, my request to switch rooms was denied, even though my traveling companion received a different response. And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, the TV completely stopped working!
It took until the next evening for us to finally be moved to a new room, which, thankfully, was clean, boasted a functioning TV, and offered a much better view. The hotel itself is in a prime location—close enough to Bourbon Street for a good time, yet distanced enough to escape the chaos. However, our troubles didn’t end there. At checkout, we discovered we had been overcharged by roughly $20, but after a few hours at home, I managed to sort that out.
Between the filth, the privacy breach, the lackluster service, the broken TV, and that dismal alley view, I can confidently say this was an unmitigated disaster. Do yourself a favor: avoid this hotel at all costs if you value a pleasant stay!
