Checked in on my Hilton app to get a great price. If you call most of the time an agent will book the room for you and they add their rate to the booking. Our room was on the first floor and convent to ground floor activity. The room was a bit outdated but functional. My biggest issue was the shower faucet and shower head. The faucet, you can turn in circles and no water came out. The handle didn't match the hotel and cool water. The shower head setting was jammed for hard spray and there's no adjustment! The water spray was sting my skin! The staff was very polite, informative, and professional. Breakfast was very good, along with the coffee ☕️ The dining area was very roomy and very nice sitting spaces. Entertainment TV and computer were good. The views to the patio and landscape was nice. The outdoor seating had a firepit and comfortable outdoor furnishings. The parking lots was spacious and very bright lighting for security. The hotel is near IH-10 and you can hear the traffic noises. There are several restaurants within walking distance. All in all it's a good one night stay.
I recommend to all my brothers and family. Enjoy 😉

If you plan on staying here, go ahead and take your wallet and hand over everything in your account, because this property will find a way to charge you twice and then argue with you about it. What happened during our stay wasn’t just unprofessional it was unsafe, frustrating, and highly suspicious. If I could give this hotel a negative star I absolutely would!
My boyfriend went to the front desk and paid to extend our stay. We were told everything was taken care of. Yet somehow, someone else was given a key to our room and walked in on us a major safety and privacy violation that should never happen at any hotel.
When we went downstairs to clarify the situation, we were told everything was “fine.” The next morning, the manager, Tad, claimed we had NOT paid and demanded another payment or we needed to leave. Because of this, we were charged twice for the same exact extension, leaving us with almost $1,000 for four nights completely insane and unacceptable.
To make it even more ridiculous, when we asked about the laundry room, the front desk told us we could “walk to another hotel” to wash our clothes. I have stayed at many hotels and have never been told to leave the property for basic amenities.
Then the second charge didn’t even post until days later, and now Hilton is trying to say it came from “another hotel,” which is absolutely impossible. We never stayed anywhere else. The transaction date clearly matches the extension night at THIS location.
After reading recent reviews from other guests dealing with the exact same issue double charges, excuses, and denial it’s obvious this is not a coincidence. This is a pattern.
At this point, it no longer looks like mistakes. It looks like a serious billing problem that needs corporate investigation. Manager Tad especially needs to be looked into, because the way this was handled was dismissive, inconsistent, and completely unprofessional.
Between the privacy violation, double billing, delayed posting, excuses, and zero accountability, we will not be returning. Hilton Corporate needs to step in immediately and address what’s going on at this property.
UPDATE: I’m still dealing with Hilton corporate through email because this isn’t resolved even though the manager said it was “resolved” already, lol. My bank records clearly show two charges from ‘Hilton Hotels 3504 Baton Rouge, LA 70808,’ and technically it does NOT say ‘Tru by Hilton’ anywhere, so the claim that it came from “another Hilton” makes no sense. They also didn’t mention that a random person was given a key to my room and literally walked in on us meaning they just sent someone into a dirty room without even checking. His response does NOT match what actually happened.

Some very strange things going on at this hotel, it REALLY should be looked into by Hilton Corporate. I have stayed exclusively at Hilton properties any time I have a choice. I picked this Tru for a quick trip to Baton Rouge, which I visit a few times a year. This was the first time and LAST time that I'll make this particular mistake.
To make a long story short, I had paid in advance to book the room the week before directly through the Hilton site, but was told they had no record of the payment and needed to swipe my card again in order to check in. They double charged us. Upon checking out we told the clerk they needed to reverse the charge, but they said we needed to talk to the manager, 'Tad', who wasn't in. We left our contact info but he never called, so we called Hilton corporate. They couldn't get ahold of him either. Numerous attempts at reaching this mythical 'Tad' resulted in nothing. Eventually we had to file a fraud complaint with our bank. It's been weeks. Hopefully Hilton corporate looks into the inner workings of this property, because this is NOT the experience I'm used to, nor should it be something that happens under their oversight, period.
The entire experience has not only put me off of staying at this particular property again, but the fact that Hilton corporate couldn't come close to resolving the matter has put my multi-decade trust in Hilton at question. NOBODY should have to file a FRAUD CLAIM to resolve a simple, demonstrable billing error with an international company...
Tad, if you're reading this... Get your business straight. Because this is a FAIL.
