Decent place to spend a weekend. Hotel lobby really nice and so were the people... Rooms are dated (90's- 00's era). T.V. is basic ➕️ cable, really could stand to cut the cord and update to streaming. Really missing my YouTube, Prime and Netflix right about now. I know what you're probably saying; "just use your phone". Who in the Hell wants to hold their phone for hours on end to watch a movie on a 6" screen? NOT ME! Overall not a horrible stay and the breakfast is pretty good. If we had to come back to Baton Rouge, we'd probably stay somewhere where we could stream but the minute they do upgrade/update the rooms, we'd be back... Oh yeah! Maybe they should require a dress code for the breakfast buffet. Most of us don't want to eat with strangers in their bonnets and pajamas. IJS.

Disgusting. Dirty and torn carpets, grungy grout, stained bedding, droppings on the fold out bed. Hilton should guard its brand far better.
This location is an old Hilton Garden Inn from the 80's, with some of the original carpet. The staff is surly, half the elevators aren't running, and the main atrium is dingy, humid, and well past its prime.

This Embassy Suites served its purpose for us - spacious rooms, a door between the bedroom and the fold out sofa room for privacy, two extra sinks outside the bathroom so that all three teens had space for primping, hot made-to-order bfast in the morning. All for under $100/night. If this had been priced like most Embassy Suites I would've been pretty salty but for what we paid it was fine. The negatives were:
1. Very run down facilities across the board (think no proper floor on the elevators, elevators working inconsistently, threadbare furniture in the lobby, etc...)
2. Very shabby sofa bed. When we arrived a coil (wire) was sticking out and the mattress was very thin, used, highly stained. We let management know and their response was to send someone to clip the wire.
3. Our initial room had broken A/C. We let front desk know and it took about 2 hours to eventually move us to a room with better A/C after trying and failing to fix the problem. I noticed the filter behind the vent was very very dirty and probably needed to be changed to new, but the maintenance man who worked on it did not change it as part of his repair attempt.
4. Our second room had some default setting on the A/C that kept bumping the thernostat to 72 so we woke up warm both mornings. To be fair - we did not alert front desk to give them an opportunity to fix. By that point we'd reached out twice (busted mattress and broken A/C) and got the sense the woman manning reception was finding us frustrating & high maintenance).
For the price I would probably opt in to this Embassy again, though not if we needed to put teens on a sofa bed!

Just take a look at their defensive response and the other reviews and you’ll see that they know they have an issue, but haven’t take care of it yet. Wear is not stains all over the carpet, or the door swing latch barely being attached, I could list a lot more but you get the point. The place may have been renovated in 2014, but that was probably just the lobby, which does look quite nice.
By far the worst Embassy Suites I’ve stayed at. The rooms look like they haven’t been updated or cleaned well since the hotel opened. Furniture looks straight out of the late 90s, The carpets are stained throughout the room, bed creeks, you can just about hear everything through the walls.
Overall highly recommend skipping this Embassy Suites until they finish a full remodel of the place.
Even then maybe skip it, it’s a bit busy and people just hanging around the parking lot, which seems odd.

Save your money and your sanity! This hotel is far past its prime and unless it goes under a major renovation they will never get my money again. My husband and I stayed here the weekend before Christmas and I should have taken the negative reviews to heart.
Pros-
-Location, it's right off the highway and central in Baton Rouge
Cons-
-Outdated (Rooms, Furniture, Bathroom)
-Climate Control/Humidity/Ventilation
-Cleanliness
- Breakfast Staff/Area
The rooms and furniture are outdated, the ventilations sucks and there's an overall feeling that the hotel hasn't been cleaned properly in some time. The bed was old, box springs creaks and it was slightly uneven. The ventilation is a problem at this hotel, the bathroom counter and the rooms surfaces were always wet. The bathrooms steamed within minutes of running the shower and there's a muggy, humid air that never goes away. You can smell it as soon as you walk into your room. We were miserable all three nights, our room never cooled down adequately, no excuse because it is the middle of December, not summer when air units are working over time. Not even sure why but we could never get towels, we even called down for towels and they gave us extra and when they cleaned the room they took the extra clean towels and we were left with even fewer than we initially started with. The towel issue just didn't make sense at all. I went down for breakfast one day and never went again. Breakfast was served by staff who looked like they didn't want to be there, I ended up only getting a bowl a grits and some juice. This breakfast did not live up the Embassy Brand breakfast which is usually a big reason why I enjoy staying at the Embassy. To be honest, I'll probably never stay at this particular Embassy Suites again. Don't be like me, trust the reviews.
