Great location, LOTS of restaurants nearby and within easy walking distance. Breakfast was good with variety of options - will note that having the salt/pepper shakers as grinders made for difficult use by someone with a cast on one hand. Staff friendly. Chose this over another hotel in the area with two queen beds and a sofa suite. This one definitely seemed easier as far as layout compared to the other place. However the bathroom door being a hanging barndoor sliding type RIGHT at the entryway made the entry feel more narrow (standard suite room, not accessible). Also NOTE - this sliding door does NOT LOCK OR LATCH. Great maybe if you have little kids who like to lock themselves in, but not great if you’re needing privacy or trying to temporarily pen a pet inside as they can easily paw the bathroom door open. We stayed in two different rooms, two different stays this week as we were traveling through the area to and from home. The first room was great, we didn’t have issues with anything in the room itself really. The second room however, the ac/heat unit was only controllable via the thermostat on the wall (could’ve sworn the former room also had control on the unit itself), and the unit kept shutting off. We cranked it down to 66 trying to get it to kick on as it was 72 in the room and eve hotter out in the hallway of the second floor. Meanwhile outside was in the upper 30s. It’d kick on with the fan for a minute or two and then shut off. My husband figured out how to reset the thermostat itself (thank you google), which was helpful, but we never could get it to just stay with fan on all night (despite it being set to fan “on” not automatic). We tried turning on white noise type stuff on the tv via YouTube but it wasn’t the same. We all got a spotty sleep all night. Overall the rooms feel quality, but they do have noticeable age and wear - you can probably see the seam on the ottoman I popped in the first room (this was the first room-205) Our second room had many stains all over the carpet, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling at edges and some of the ceiling paint over the shower door was falling down (221). The rooms do have a nice little kitchen area with full dishwasher and stocked with real dishes and good size refrigerator. And a microwave. Good setup for extended stay but you’re not cooking much besides whatever you can cook in a microwave. And the curtain idea is nice for splitting space if someone wants to nap while someone else is trying to work using the pull out desk or watch tv - however the curtain does not block the tv AT ALL, so all the light and whatnot will light up the whole room and at the beds - be interesting to see this flip flopped in setup or make it so the curtain can literally extend wall to wall to functionally block living & sleep spaces. We did not use the pull out sofa bed so no I put on its quality or comfort. Linens for it were in cabinet below tv. The queens beds were comfortable enough. Not overly hard or soft. Pillows definitely left something to be desired. All three on each bed were just flat within seconds.

My second stay at this hotel. Great value, large room, complimentary breakfast and event hot cocoa in the evening. A gym and an indoor pool. Walking distance to a half dozen restaurants including a great steakhouse. Minutes from downtown Lexington, 20 from Old Friends Equine Retirement farm, and 30 from Buffalo Trace and Woodford Reserve distillery. About 80 minutes from Louisville.

What a disappointment as a Hilton Honors member. Our first room had a broken faucet and carpet stains. So we were immediately moved to another room. Faucet fixed, but carpeting still stained. We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend. Woke up Thanksgiving morning. Had relatives coming over to watch the Macy's parade but the TV wasn't working. No way to repair it. Asked to move to another room for a few hours just to watch the parade. Was told no and that they'd comp the room if we just found another hotel. WHAT? So we walked to the Holiday Inn next door. Much better hotel. Higher class, better amenities and a lower cost. Thanks for inconveniencing us on a Holiday weekend. Of course we'll never be back.

I will start by stating that most of the hotel staff were absolutely amazing and kind. However, Melissa, the assistant manager was very rude and demeaning from the first interaction I had with her. We stay in hotels often for hockey and none of us have ever encountered anything quite like how we were treated this weekend. The first encounter all of us parents were in the lobby, she walked up to us and let us know that our children were being loud and that was our only warning or we were being kicked out. The way she spoke was absolutely uncalled for. Then she stated she was calling the cops on us. The next day she was harassing one of our dads stating they were too intoxicated the night before to even remember what they were even doing or could even parent, (completely false). The next day a few kids were left with another parent who was in the lobby working. She called multiple parents saying that their children were left unattended.(the parent heard her entire conversation ann confronted her) and she was calling the cops. She tried to lie numerous times about all of the situations, took videos of children (not even sure whose bc she refused to show us) and was absolutely out of line. Reading the reviews it seems that if you have children or dogs you should not stay at this hotel.
