My son and I attended a conference in Covington a couple of weeks ago. Our stay was supposed to be covered by the foundation that sponsored our trip. I am certain the foundation did their due difference to make sure everything was taken care. Unfortunately, very poor communication on the part of management has soured our stay at this Embassy Suites.
The despite the horrifying reviews I read prior to our stay including unclean rooms with stains and roaches, our room was decent. It did smell of mildew and mold but the bathroom was clean enough. I did not see any roaches during our stay but I made sure our luggage remained in hard surfaces and zipped up when not in use.
I did not allow our room to be cleaned during our three day stay as I didn't trust it would be done properly.
The front desk staff were nice enough but very confused about our room being covered. The head of the foundation spoke, personally, with the front desk and someone from the sales departments several times. I was still charged for the stay TWICE!!!
Even after returning home I reached out to hotel management, Hilton, and the head of the foundation again. More calls were made and I'm still waiting for my credit card to be credited for both charges.
I recommend not doing business with this property and just staying at the Marriot across the street. I will say that the bartenders at the happy hour were great and the reason I gave this place a star at all.
UPDATE: Ms. Maddox, I did reach out to you on 11/18 and provided the contact information for the point person at the foundation. You never called me back as I requested. The foundation said they spoke with you but the issue is still not resolved.

Gave one star for the location in relation to the conference we were attending and how close/easy it was to walk over the bridge to the Cincinnati side. Our room had a nice view of the bridge and waterfront. Hot breakfast was pretty good, especially the cheesy grits. There were a few staffing or supply issues at breakfast but the chefs were great despite that.
Gave another star to the remaining staff that was wonderful every other moment. At check out they made sure to ask which card to charge to because I had two cards on file. They had their hands full with plumbing and heating issues but most were still friendly and helpful when guests walked up to the desk.
Took one star away for the sassy, unfriendly front desk staff that was annoyed when we asked if we could get rooms on the same floor. This same person claimed he could not find my package that was delivered to the hotel (with photo proof) and suggested I check the Marriott next door. The next morning I asked a different front desk person about the package and she said it was right on top, given to me without issue. Our other colleagues heard him bragging to people about how some of the good things about the hotel (breakfast and I can't remember what else) were because of him.
Took two stars away for the heat not working in the room, the shower turning cold after a few minutes or not even really getting warm at all sometimes, a fan vent in the shower without a switch for a fan in the bathroom, and a constant musty/old dirty water smell in the bathroom even when leaving the door open to air out. As if the mop they used had been washed but left in the washing machine too long so it makes everything smell now. The heat and water issue was a problem throughout the entire hotel because many other conference attendees complained about the same thing, front desk staff were often sending engineering to different rooms, and engineering staff were clearly visible in the hotel. There's a lot of pretty little things but major upgrades needed considering it's a Hilton property.

First of all, I did a mobile check-in and has a diamond member you’re supposed to get some waters. I wasn’t given anything because I did a mobile check-in. So I went to the desk to get my waters, and I had a fight with a guy cause he claimed that I had already got my waters and he insisted that he checked me in and he knew who I was. After fighting for him for several minutes, he then looked up my information and figured out that he was wrong and apologize and gave me my waters. I didn’t know waters were such a big commodity here. Then I asked for a late check out and they said they would not honor any late checkouts. I would not recommend anybody stay here. As a diamond member, you have zero benefits here and they do not care about being hospitable. There’s so many other places, you can spend your money at that are well worth it.

I can’t say enough good things about the front desk team at Embassy suites in Covington. Two receptionists (Sarumathi and Kim) in particular have been absolutely phenomenal . From the moment I mentioned I was here on a work trip, they went above and beyond to make my stay seamless. They helped me with everything from printing documents to arranging quiet meeting spaces, always with a warm smile and a “no problem at all” attitude. It truly made a difference in my experience, and I’m extremely grateful for their outstanding hospitality. Highly recommend this hotel if you want service that goes the extra mile!

This hotel was just so disappointing on so many levels. We arrived pretty late so I do understand that staff appearance may be a little more laid back but the person checking us in was wearing a crop top, it just felt very unprofessional. Once we were checked in she took us to our room because she wasn't actually sure if it was clean. It was but this room was honestly one of the worst rooms I have ever seen. The carpet was stained everywhere, there was a gap in the middle of it, the furniture is all dinged and very worn. The faucet in the bathroom was croded. In addition the shower curtain was ripped and had holes in it and the hand soap dispenser was falling off the wall, thing that could easily be fixed but aren't. And the area right outside our door had large pieces of dirt that remained there the whole time. The breakfast the 1st day we were there was fine but the second day was a disaster. I'm assuming they were short staffed or something because there was almost no food, no plates or silverware, no coffee and barely anywhere to eat due to no one cleaning. I had the last piece of sausage and a few potatoes because that was it, I didn't observe anyone putting out more food or plates or cleaning up in the atrium and it was only 8:30 am. Dirty dishes were just stacked high on carts. I will say that outside of that time the atrium does look nice and it feels like it was refreshed not too long ago. The staff was friendly, we never encountered anyone who was rude. The location is nice right on the river, and a short walk to downtown Cincinnati. I know Embassy Suites is not Hilton's nicest hotel but this was by far the worst I've ever stayed in. Until they renovate the rooms I would not recommend.
