- JEJack E.Sep 7, 20253.0The good: The location is very convenient, but it isn't hard to get around downtown Leavenworth. There are several places to eat within walking distance and you can be on Fort Leavenworth in 5 minutes or less. The staff was always pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. The fitness center had the usual stuff for a hotel, but was actually a bit larger with more equipment than most hotels this size. That is important since a significant number of guests are TDY to Fort Leavenworth. I didn't have dog but saw several that did and the hotel was accommodating to man's best friend. The bad: The room size was about half of most Home2Suites. I was alone so it was just fine for me, but if you are staying there for a while with 2 or more per room (which is the whole point of Home2Suites) it might get crowded. Does not live up to the "suites" name. The breakfast was the most disappointing of any Home2Suites or other Hilton property I stayed at. Of course you can make waffles, they rotated between hot grits and gravy for SOS , and there were bagels and a toaster. But the main course was microwave biscuits and burritos. Fine for a day or two, but if you are staying there for a week or more this is pretty disappointing.

The breakfast was really not good and the pool was closed for maintenance during our stay, which left us with nothing to do with the kids at the hotel. The only somewhat positive thing was that the gym had decent equipment. It’s located about 8 minutes from Fort Leavenworth, which is convenient. I couldn’t sleep because there was loud banging and stomping from the upstairs for over an hour, so I went to the front desk. The male staff member said he would go upstairs to check, but it’s been 30 minutes and there’s still loud noise and running from above. We still can’t sleep. I don’t understand why he didn’t just call the guest upstairs and ask them to keep it down. However, I was surprised that there was no decaf coffee available. On a positive note, the housekeeping staff were very friendly and always brought us what we needed when we asked.
