    The Hampton Inn and Suites in Schererville was a lovely experience. My husband and I were traveling with our daughter and her two young boys. The pool was a big hit. The rooms were immaculate, and beds were very comfortable. Erica was manning the front desk during our two-day stay, and she was an absolute delight. We needed extra towels & washcloths, and she took care of our need immediately. Erica was personable and welcoming to every person we saw enter the hotel, engaging travelers in conversation and seeming genuinely committed that everyone enjoy their stay. She personified hospitality, and made a really nice hotel stay memorable.

    My husband and I thought it would be a good idea to stay at this particular hotel due to the convenience of our NYE plans. Regrettably, I wish we would have just stayed at the other location nearby since we typically love our stay at Hampton Inn in other cities. We were excited only to have it ruined by one of the staff members of the hotel. I originally called down to report our toilet not flushing and continued to run. The young woman was nice. She rolled up her sleeves, put on some gloves, and attempted to fix the toilet. I just wish there was a maintenance person on duty to fix it properly. I had to call down again and there was a different person on duty who was beyond rude and very unprofessional. I don’t think I have ever been treated this poorly by an employee. I was in shock because I have been in property management for over 17 years. I didn’t even get her name nor an apology for the inconvenience of an inoperable toilet. I got an attitude in which she explained in confrontation that it was because she thought I had an attitude. What she got was an unsatisfied customer. Her job is to make me satisfied, not make the situation worse. She did transfer our room which was intervened by a call from her to the authorities claiming that I was irate, when in fact, she was the irate one. I should have made the call right along with her. In addition to that, the second room had a hairline crack in the toilet. This ended with her having us being escorted from the hotel in the middle of the night, to drive home on a icy cold road during the holiday. What an absolute shame. I left a message for the General Manager. Somehow, I don’t believe this issue will be handled. However, Hotels.com was great about issuing my full refund. I did notice the name tag on the wall that said the manager on duty was Sheree Brown. So, perhaps that was her. But I would be greatly surprised and disappointed If the hotel would allow such a person to run their establishment. This is by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had.

    The Schereville Hampton is a wonderful place to stay. We live in the area and planned a staycation and rented a room for our daughter's 7th birthday for the 26th of December and she loved it! We took her and 6 yr brother swimming, pool was open and absolutely clean and they had a blast. Personnel were attentive and friendly! We will definitely return to this location!

    If I had a chance to give ZERO stars I would. The hotel stay was wonderful. I brought me, family and my 8 kids there for one night stay for a birthday. Check in was easy, staff were wonderful (at the time). Until I checkout and go home. I seen a 250$ attempt charge on my card. I called to see why would they possibly be trying to get extra money from me. I called and spoke with a manager Marci and she tells me I have been charged a smoking fee of 250$ because the room smelled like weed. I tried to explain to her that there was no way I was in a room with 8 kids smoking weed. She then proceeds to tell me that “well we don’t judge people there have been many times were people where in their room smoking weed around their children” (so you guys allow child endangerment to happen at your hotel ok) She told me the housekeeping managers name was Katina and that I wasn’t able to speak with her at that present time. There was no way possible that I was in that room smoking weed. Then when I proceed to inform Marci that I will be back up there to speak to Ms. Katina to get an understanding of what evidence there was of smoking weed in my room WITH 8 kids! She tells me “you can come up here you are not scarring anybody”. Upon my check out, I heard housekeeping in the hallway down the hall stating somebody’s room smelled like loud marijuana. This was while I was checking out of the room. They had not inspected my room at all at this time. The amount of unprofessionalism shocked me being this hotel has 4.3 star rating. And because I am challenging the housekeeping managers “investigation” is the reason I am not able to book with this location again. Oh and that bc they didn’t get the 250$ BC I WAS NOT SMOKING IN THE ROOM. So this is a warning if you are 420 friendly or happened to smell like marijuana then it deems this hotel the right to charge you $250 smoking fee because you will have their room smelling like marijuana. This hotel will lie on you just to charge you extra money.
