The rooms are nice, the environment is welcoming, and overall we’ve enjoyed our stays there, which is why we’ve returned several times. However, our most recent visit left us feeling really deceived. We ordered room service and, as we always do, we left a tip. Later, we found out there was an automatic gratuity already added to the bill — something we were never told about. This automatic charge, combined with the tip we left, ended up nearly tripling the gratuity portion of the price. We have stayed here multiple times and have always tipped for room service, but at no point were we made aware that an automatic gratuity was already included. Transparency is important, and this experience took away from what would have otherwise been another great stay. It’s a lovely hotel, but clearer communication about charges like automatic gratuity would go a long way in maintaining trust with returning guests.

We've stayed at different hotels around the US and both agreed the Nickel Plate Hotel was top notch. Easy parking, great customer service, wonderful food and decor. Our room overlooked downtown fishers and we had the perfect getaway. Highly recommend. We also found out the restaurant inside isn't exclusive to guest so we may make another trip over to enjoy the igloos and food with friends. Thank you!

This was due to a Santa breakfast that was open to NON hotel guests but was not made available to paying hotel guests. In my 30+ years of hotel stays I have never been denied breakfast at the property I was staying at. Not only poor judgement but very discriminatory to non Christian’s guests. The manager was very rude and even dismissive. Very unfortunate and short cited.

- DDDavid DahlDec 7, 20255.0Loved this hotel. We came in the the Big Ten Championship game. Front desk staff was great on checkin. Night Audit man was super nice when we got in at 2am. The next morning was awful as we had car issues. Josh went above and beyond to help me including jumping my car. After a long night and little sleep I cannot thank him enough for helping us out.
