    I’ve stayed at this location for the past 10 weeks, and it’s been a great experience. The hotel is centrally located, and they have been working to completely renovate the l building. The updated rooms and public spaces look great, and they should be done next month. The staff are what really make this location stand out. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful, even offering to help do my laundry when I couldn’t make it home one weekend! Danyl and Barel and all the other staff I can’t name are great people. The location is well run and breakfast is always stocked by the great morning woman who never stops working!

    We had a very disappointing experience staying at the Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee. We decided to spend the weekend in Gurnee for a vacation, but our plans were interrupted and essentially ruined. We had checked in and carried our belongings into the room, and decided to explore the rest of what the hotel offered. Upon returning to our room, our key cards would not work, and we were unable to get back inside the room. Our car keys and wallets were inside the room, not allowing us to leave the premises. After TWO HOURS, the employees were finally able to open the door to our original room, and we were able to retrieve our belongings. Luckily, we were able to stay in a room next door, but this inconvenience ruined our dinner plans and what we were hoping to do for the night. We were able to speak with the general manager, but he only offered a lousy 10% off discount. I explained that we deserved a greater compensation, and Mr. Patel, the general manager, informed me he would speak to the corporate headquarters, and call me when there would be an update. It has been three months, and I have not heard a word from anyone. This is unacceptable and we will not be staying at another Hilton-owned hotel anytime soon.
